As much as I would like to do the whole ATGATT thing, I'm finding that during the days in January in South Texas that I'm more of a SOGSOT kind of guy. (Some Of the Gear, Some Of the Time).

Today it was clear blue sky, around 30% humidity, and a high in the upper 70's.

Y'all be careful up there where it's RFC. (Really F***ing Cold)

Or, Come Visit!

Don't you just love the weather here.

GOD BLESS TEXAS, and may He provide heaters for our friends up north.

Los Angeles here. Yeah, we had 100+ degrees for most of the summer. But when I looked at the "crashes" page here on BadWEB with my wife, we agreed it was ATGATT or sell the bike.

People at work say I look like a power ranger with my red/white/black helmet, jacket, and gloves (the boots are just black lol). F*** em.

The only exception has been the gym (3 miles from home). Can't fit the jacket in my locker.

Friday morning it was -18*F with a -35*F wind chill here in northern Illinois. I had fun looking at my Buell's battery sitting on the shelf attached to the trickle charger. At least I'm getting use out of my new snow blower.

I can understand how you feel about the gear, but I can tell you from experience that it is worth wearing the gear all the time, because all it takes is a nanosecond for everything to go to crap. I hit a patch of sand at about 50 mph on a turn and was able to get up and walk away because of all the stupid gear I had on. I do not care how hot it is; I will wear it all. I even considered getting the strap on armor to go underneath. The bright side is it keeps you from getting sun burned on those long rides. Best of luck to you and your SOGSOT and I pray you stay safe. Just remember it only takes a second to change the rest of your life forever.

BTW, I am in NY right now and I hate you for your warm weather. I can't wait to get out of this place and move somewhere warmer.

Yesterday was so nice I wore my flyers cap instead of the hard helmet.

Broke down last Summer and bought a mesh jacket with armor for hot days.
Before that I would wear just a leather vest.

Wear as much gear as you can stand and maintain a modicum of comfort.

Last Spring I got tired of shoveling snow and rode Loretta down to South Texas for a week.
South of San Antonio was a garden...

Little bro lives in Victoria, folks are a few miles north.
