Sitting here drinking my coffee this morn, watching the tv as I work on my S3 Blog for the rebuild I am doing and I had this thought....

SPIKEHD has the following (Xtreme4x4, Horsepower, MuscleCar and Trucks)

Where are the (Sportbike, DualSport, BigBore and Big Accessories) shows.

Have we missed a market here. Would we watch those shows on a Sunday morning?

I think I would....

superbikes would be better if it were longer and did a block on building. the stunt thing just gets old to me. i'm sure that briton wants to do more with the show but speedtv holds the reigns tight.

super bikes are two bias too the dropped stretched, stunt guys, and squidly "bike gang" types.

They need one that Is about working on bikes like how to tune suspension. How to tune different types of engines and stuff like that.

I assume you guys know the format of the SPIKE shows, with that said... I think Superbikes is far from the aforementioned shows.

Think about a show that would take an idea for a bike and purpose build it for the task (ala Extreme4x4)

Think about a show that would take big bore bikes and show engine, suspension and wheel modifications that would increase the performance of the bikes (ala MuscleCar)

Think about a show that would take a look at the current line up of motorcycles from the OEM's and see how they stack up (ala Motorcycle Review mags)

The closest thing I remember ever seeing was a show called "American Thunder", but man was it way cheesey and very cruiser centric.

I would love to see and "Adventure Bike" show that would cover bikes from (Dualsports to BMWGS plush rides) I am talking build ups for the SCORE BAJA to weekend trail running.

Barker, where are you buddy.... We need to talk to your production house.

Slowride I am on your level of thinking. A motorcycle version of horsepower tv or two guys garage type shows.

Firebolt, Thanks for the validation. Now that I have been totally distracted from my original task this morning of turning out the S3 Blog, I guess I need to suck it up and get back to work.

MORE COFFEE PLS!

If they would tape our garage it would show alot of beer drinking and pizza eating, ... an integral part to any garage session.

On this episode of Shaded Tree Mechanics, we are going to find out how to install a bike roll cage for your off road riding mishaps, and for good measure a right side scoop to keep everything cooled down and aired out. And finally we will road test a new set of knobbies on our course out back, Stay tuned, go grab a beer.

And as long as we are in production ramp up mode. I like something along Alton Browns Dining on Ashpalt series.... But with an adventure twist.

No Franchises, No main Highways, No PAVED roads. Every eating establishment, rural local cuisine and at the end of a dirty road, or the start of a Mt Forest road.
And of course the antics to get from one eatery to the other. Call it Dinner on Dirt.

I like that idea and format. Another idea would be a format like diner, drive-in or dive's and merge the dirt to dinner idea into it.

That would be pretty interesting.

I think there is enough two wheel oriented material out there to have a cable channel dedicated to it. Between racing, (all diciplines), riding, building, restoring, hauling, touring, and covering events there is certainly a lot of material if not enough. If some extra filler is needed you could put in a celebrity death match between Billy Mays and Vince. I wish I had the money to start a channel.

Mtv All Motorcycle, All day, you turn it on, and there will be bikes. No damn reality contest shows involving twenty somethings playing kids, no American Idiot, No Forensic Crime Dramas, no Soap Opera Wannabees, No News (unless its stats of motorcycle racing) and for the love of God, music videos with MOTORCYCLES in them .
I like it, I want my MTV
