Macy (my wife) and I went out for a ride last weekend, her on the S3 and me on the S2. When we got home the tailight lens on the S3 was missing. I used the part number from my parts book to try to order a new one and got this response. "Part #68074-94Y is obsolete and no longer available from H/D; it supercedes to Y0401.2QQ which is more expensive. NOTE: part # Y0401.2QQ is $42.80+ SHIP CHARGE" Can anyone confirm this for me? When I was looking for one, I was told you had to buy the whole taillight assembly, not the lens separately. |

it is the whole assy now, that number (y0401.2qq) is accurate, buell lists that part at 53.50 so grab it at 42 while you have the chance!! |

I have a used one from my 98s3 if anyone is interested. I have removed the entire tail section so all parts would be available for the light. |

Call GAINESVILL HARLEY DAVIDSON parts dept. They JUST got me one ordered in... it took about 2 months.... I think the original distributor dropped them or something and HD had to find a new distributor. Matt. |

Micah- I am thinking that the 98 and 99 taillights should be the same so I would be most interested in buying the lens from you. Shane |

Thanks for the pic. If I'd realized that there was just a captive nut back there I would have saved myself from losing a screw (which I gotta admit is better than losing the entire lens). I know what I need to do to make it right by spring, now. |

That lens is shared with one or two Moto Guzzis as well, in case you happen to have a Guzzi dealer near by. TJ |
