Will the rear shock for an X1 fit on an S1? |

I think all of the tuber rear shocks are interchangeable as long as the mounting points are the same distance apart, but I may be wrong. |

Yup. The short shock is for the updated front mount, the long (16.5") should fit with the old front shock mount you might have. Try to get any mounting hardware you can with it (esp for the remote reservoir). -Mike |

The front mount on your bike is either the short or long version. Your shock on it now is either a 16.5 or a 14.5. The x1 could be 14.5 or 16.5. Measure both of them, and you may need a different front mount to fit it. The rest of the hardware is the same. |

Hardware is the same based on mounting length, yes. However, looking at some old docs, there were different part numbers based on model, presumably because of curb weight. My guess (that's all it is - a guess) is there were slight differences in spring rates or valving, based on model....an X1 shock on an S1 may be a little firm, but my guess is it can be adjusted out. |

Thanks for the input guys. Also, can the rear shock be rebuilt? Just curious as Ive been told that they are not serviceable. |

Yes your shock can be rebuilt. There was a guy on the board that was doing it plus you can do some searching and find places that will rebuild them, I think that Race Tech will. I know that Traxxion Dynamics doesn't. Joe |

I seem to recall that some of the shocks had straight-rate springs and others had progressive. Maybe search the Knowlege Vault...in any case, I would think that X1 and S1 shocks would be pretty close, given the type of bike each is. HellBuelly J |
