Any tattoo fans around here? I've got a few on my upper arms. I've been planing a full sleeve for a few years now, just couldn't come up with a theme I dug. Well I've finally settled on a theme, went and spoke to the artist I want to do my work yesterday. She's gonna come up with some drawings for me and I've got an appointment to start shreadin skin on Jan 17th. I can't wait, this has been on the table for so long I didn't think I'd ever get around to it. I'll post progress pics as we go along, as it's gonna take several sittings. So what do you guys and girls have and or want to get done? |

My brother and I got this together. His Sig/Initials/DOB are on my arm. And mine are on him. "R" seal is for the name Rucker, and "18" is for the 18th letter of the alphabet which is the letter "R"

I want a tattoo, but I haven't thought of anything I'd want to have. I don't want anyones artwork but my own, which makes things even harder. The girlfriend wants to get a lizard on the top of her foot. |

xl1200r- you can tell your girlfriend what my tattoo artist told me.... the 3 most painful spots to get tat's- head, feet and privates.... not much muscle or soft tissue, all bones and tendons.....I have both feet done... I enjoyed it but I have been told I have a high pain tolerance... I might try to post pics later.. badlionsfan- good luck with the new art work.... the buzz of the gun is addictive to say the least.... |

badlionsfan- good luck with the new art work.... the buzz of the gun is addictive to say the least.... Yes it is. When I was younger I was more concerned about gettin tats than what I was getting. This sleeve is a partial cover up of my upper arm. That's why this has taken so long. Not just to figure out what I want, but who I want to do it. Here's some pics of work the artist I'm going with has done. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti on=user.viewPicture&friendID=113623787&albumId=706 35 (Message edited by badlionsfan on December 28, 2008) |

Who are you having do it? I checked out the work, very nice. I have a few. My kids names on my wrists and a wolf on the upper arm. I want to get a half sleeve, but I can't decide on a subject. I know the style and colors, just not the center piece. Maybe a portrait of my XB... j.k. on the last. |

Nicole @ Red Rabbit Studios in Portage Lakes (Akron) Ohio. If you kinda know what you want, talk to a good artist and see what they can come up with for you. |

The Islanders have intricate glyphs running in bands tattooed on their arms. They tell their story. Where they came from and their history in a series of shapes and lines. I like the concept a lot.

Once you start it is hard to stop. I've got 5 right now. I'm working on a ying/yang type theme. I'm going with a dark or evil arm and a nice, colorful theme on the other. It does take alot of time and pain...but the end result is awesome. Post some pics whenever it cleans up nice. |

Rules -You are allowed: (1) Statutory tattoo (1) For each branch of the Armed Forces you served in (add (1) for special ops) (1) For each time you re-enlisted (1) For each American made motorcycle (subtract (1) for each Japanese) (2) For each Limey motorcycle Unless you want to spend your retirement pumping iron go easy on arm tattoos, my anchor starting to look like it might slip in a heavy sea. For similar reasons chicks might want to keep their chest tattoos where only really close friends see them. My wife’s still looks great to me but in theory it is possible that I am alone in that opinion. |

When I was a kid, I ordered some eyeglasses with the Suzuki "S" engraved into the outer edge. Must've been in 4th or 5th grade. I WAS A COOL MOFO. I've seen some really cool ink pics- my faves are barbed wire dissolving into birds, and a SICK version of the Cat In THe Hat with bloody eyes, large fangs and a dead rat in it's mouth. Some sharp B&W could be done well with Escher. Long Live Ed Roth! RF +1 (Message edited by 86129squids on December 28, 2008) |

Nice space. It looks like your upper arm may have some of the work that could be in my sleeve. All I told her was I wanted tradition work, especially the good luck and safe return home tats like nautical stars, swallows, etc. I'll see in a few weeks what she comes up with, I can't frickin wait! |

I'm a big fan of tat's but they gotta have some deep meaning, even my kids have tat's! Would love to do a sleeve but it may take awhile to come up with all the symbolism. |

No tats, my old military unit would not allow them. We had one guy that tested the regulation, he was bounced out, BCD and forced to repay his recent reenlistment bonus. Been out 5 years, but you never can tell when they are gonna suck ya back in. |

the tatts on my neck and shoulder are, to endure, trust, father, and strength. the one on my chest is a gargoyle with a celtic background. the gargoyle is holding what looks like a crystal ball with a fetus in it(you cant see all of it). gargoyles were originally ment to be protectors, so it is kind of like they are looking over my daughter. then the tatts on my back are a gargoyle head(i really like the cracked stone design) with my daughters name under it and another gargoyle under that. my plan is to redo my back into one big piece. i am going to have that top tatt enlarged and have it cover up the other ones then redo my daughters name someplace else. probably down the left side of my chest. it will all be done in cracked stone design.

I love tatts. I only have two little ones, with the addition of a third soon. I have a dragon lizard with a 'spirit' symbol on my hip to remember a friend...this one which I just 'doodled' into a design one day on my left arm
and want to get a chili pepper shaped like a bass clef. Lemonchili has this armband to represent his music...
Two of our good friends have these beautiful pieces though...
