I had posted before about an (to me annoying) wiggling of the tach needle at 4-5 K RPM. I eventually found the problem to be the hard mound screws for the instrument cluster (on the CR under the easily removed bikini fairing). I tried tightening them- (problem stayed the same) I tried loosening them a bit - problem went away after a trial end error of which nut got tightened/ loosened which amount. Now - no issues My .02 (again) |

I put a chuck of rubber under the upper left corner as Sly had suggested in an earlier thread. Worked perfect and a lot easier than tearing the front end apart to get to the console screws. |

Some medium to soft grommet style washers ought to help. I think the XB clusters are rubber washer'ed. |

getting in there is easy- remove 2 screws The screws (bolts) tighten down over a rubber bushing (washer?) I only tried this after I too suggested the "shim" under the display- which for we did not work. Cheers |

The R is much more difficult to get to the bolts. Also you need to experiment a little with where to locate the shim. |
