I'm replacing my tranny fluid and went to the dealership for a new derby cover rubber gasket. They informed me that it's been replaced with a paper/metal one. After purchasing one, I was wondering, is it to be used in conjunction with the rubber gasket? Seems to be the only logical thing to do (eliminating the minimal "seepage" thing). |

Fbolt no it is not. In june of 02 they made the change. You need to get a primary chain inspection cover gasket and cover kit and a clutch inspection gasket and cover kit. clutch kit is #25349-03 $19.75 primary chain # 25380-03 $19.75 I have both instock and the badweb price would make them $35.56 plus shipping , which would be 5 or 6 bucks. I be glad to get these for you. once again the parts dept dropped the ball somewhere. They should have know this and informed you and had the parts in stock. this is normal maintance. But alas I am not surprised. that they didn't know or didn't care to tell you. the covers are different and you can't use the new gasket with them. it has been changed for over a 1 1/2 years now. let me know if you want me to ship these out to you.
