Coming up on her 3rd birthday and better than ever. Must be true love. Took a lovely ride today. Temps ranged from 40's to 50's and perfectly clear here in NorCal. Highway 9, Skyline, lunch at Alice's. ahhhhh.... |

Indeed it is true love, especially when you miss your old one to the point that you make one |

FB - Sorry about you having to sell yours. Mature and a nightmare. Sucks when real life gets in the way of riding. *sigh* |

I rode yesterday. In the rain. The bike looks all dirty. Slicker would be proud. |

Rode this morning with a fresh XB9 primary. Been a while since I rode and it felt great, even at 38 degrees. Best part? No oil leaks! |

Sorry, but I have to brag about my luck a little bit. I got a nice 4 hr. ride in before changing the oil on Saturday. When I started, it was over 70 deg. It rose to nearly 80 by the time I got back. Bikes everywhere, but no Buells (where were you?). I rode for miles along a stretch of pavement with hardly a single straight section anywhere. I don't think of myself as a particularly fast rider, but I passed a BMW and countless Harleys. I don't know what it is about the Ulysses that makes it all so easy. I'm more and more amazed with the Buell each time I ride it. |

I'm an OLD harley rider from way back. It is kind of fun to roll up next to a group of baggers, let them take a look at what is about to leave them in the dust!LOL. But even more than that, I love to leave my Brother in the dust, on his GS. He never forgets to remind me "you may get there faster, but I'll get there eventually". (Man, I love this Bike). |

Still lovin' my 2.5-year-old, too. But only slightly bummed by two things this time of year: the lack of daylight (and sunny warmth) and the lack of winter riders in the DC/MD/VA area. I had a blast on Saturday cruising through the southern Maryland countryside, thinking I'd get down to the tip of the peninsula for a glimpse of where the Potomac River meets the Chesapeake Bay...but I was running out of sunlight at 4ish and decided to head back before the deer came out to greet me - didn't make it to my destination. For 4 hours I passed only three other riders (it was in the low 40s). It seems to be like this in the MD/VA suburbs until the temperatures get above 55. I understand the cold weather is a deterrent, but not much can keep me off the bike, even for a quick run around the monuments. Just wish there was a bigger year-round presence in my area...I think the cagers get even more complacent. That said, there's definitely an unspoken cameraderie among the bad weather bikers! |

In the last month in NY, I have only seen 2 other bikes on the road, my dad's Geezer Glide, and my cousins 1125R.

But only slightly bummed by two things this time of year: the lack of daylight (and sunny warmth) and the lack of winter riders in the DC/MD/VA area. There are still some of us out there. Although right now I am reserved to mostly commuting. If the temps are below 40, no joy riding for me, it's just a little too cold to be comfortable, and the cold tires never feel right. |

You guys bum me out. My poor Uly is tucked in an anti moisture bag until late March early April. By the time April roles around-- I'm so deep in a withdrawl depression that I'm wearing moto garb- helmet and all- around the house. Winter sucks up here. |

Winter does suck, all the salt is getting everywhere! You will never see my bike in one of these motorcycle prisons:

Electrics, electrics, electrics... http://www.gerbing.com/Powersports/motorcycle.php http://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/home.php?cat=59 http://www.firstgear-usa.com/fgweb2.nsf/home?openf orm ...and so on. Living in So.CA no I've never had to shovel snow, although where I'm living now it does snow and stick around I'm told. Black ice or cold Syncs or severe winds during torrential downpours scare the crap out of me, but I'm adjusting. I LOVE riding in adverse weather. I wick it down appropriately and just enjoy the ride. I worry more about the cars out with me, especially in CA since a large number of drivers here shouldn't be driving. |

Hooper - yep, we're still out there, just have more road to ourselves is all LOL. I agree though, the cagers seem to get even more oblivious....<shrug> I always plan for the worst anyway. I love the looks I get, though, all toasty in my heated jacket liner, from cagers dressed like the michelin man in their cocoons. |

The electrics are for April, October, and November. In VT this time of year you have a few enemies: Rarely get's above 30 for three months. Salt, Sand, and Ice is everywhere and- and this one is important- you would be the ONLY bike out there.. the cages wouldn't even know what they hit. My goal is to finish the garage so I have a heated place to tinker/customize during the winter months. |
