I have a friend with an 05 Uly. Fuel system cleaned out, new air filter, electrix SEEM ok. Shiny new plugs. Starts right up, idles and runs nice, then, in about 2 days, fouls the heck out of the plugs, won't hold idle, backfires, no power. Been thru this cycle 3 times. Very little Buell knowledge at local HD dealer, we're trying to sort this one out solo. I have some sputtering problems with my 01 T'Bolt, but haven't exhausted my limited knowledge yet. Any Uly help appreciated. |

Engine temp sensor controls both ignition timing and fuel management. They can be no good and still not throw a code as they are still sending info to the ecm (albeit bad info). The O2 sensor may have fouled also. If you have Ecmspy you can get some idea on how fast the O2 is reacting/cycling by watching the output in ecmspy as the bike runs. If it does not change at about 3 to 4 times per second then it is time for a new one. The air intake temp sensor also has input for the fuel mix(its in the airbox. If it has been continually coated with oil it can be cleaned very carefully with an ear bud with alcohol on it( Wild Turkey although very nice and capable of blowing the lid off your head is not the right alcohol). |

Thanx everybody, He's gonna break down and put it in the shop, at last! If he's still talking to me, I'll pass on what the cure was. |

o2 sensor is not reading correct or your fuel is just too high for your area. get a new 02 mostlikely the cleaner used damaged the sensor making it add more fuel than needed. also check the ait sensor it may be dirty or bad. forcing the bike to think its cold. there has to be a reason. most likelt the sensors are it. the only hard one to do it the one in the rear head. mike |
