as a fella whom has worked on his own bikes for many many moons, i am imbarassed to even have to ask this..... how the heck does this airbox cover mask go on? ive searched and cant find a thread about it, probably becaus im the only dufus that cant figure it out. im so frustrated that ive thought of just cutting the cord and tabs off it and siliconing it in place... edit: the part # is 91212-04y in case thats relevant. ok ive read the directions like 50 times, i can get past the fact that the paper says that i have 6 strips to install and the kit came with 10. i can get it lined up ez without the bolts but as soon as i put the bolts in nothing works...it pulls the pocket down to were the buell logo is right on the edge were the seat sits |

The vinyl will give a little, so pull hard to streach it near the seat with one hand and slide the seat into place with the other. Once it is on there for a while it will stay in place correctly and take the shape it should. If I remember right, you need the washers with the sleeves attached to allow for the metal grommets in the mask.

I had one on my Uly for about 1.5 years. I kept it on primarily for the convenience of the mesh pocket. I recently took it off and got the new handlebar pouch. I was never able to get a fit like what is shown in the photos. There was always a wrinkle on each side where the airbox curves in to fit your knees. Mine is hanging in the garage and will probably remain there. |

Don't feel bad. Several times I've set out to install my Air Flow Cover Kit only to give up in frustration. That kit is only two simple plastic parts! My "tank" mask has a minor wrinkle on one side also. |
