Im wondering because im goin to put carbon fiber covers on. and theres some at twinmotorcycle.nl for the xb that are cheaper then the ones for the 1125r from Ilmberger about a $120 cheaper. i know its not alot but it just got me curious. Anyone have both xb and 1125r in the garage that could let me know. Im thinkin that the frame is different at the rear. but just curious. |

Don't quote me on this, but I suspect the 1125R frame would match the external dimensions of the XB12Ss, XB12X, XB12STT and XB12XT (the "Long" models) frames, but NOT the original Firebolt and Lightning frames. Because the Helicon and XB engines are so completely different, however, the "internal" dimensions will be quite different. The Helicon is a lot narrower, allowing the frame to protrude more into the engine area. The 1125R frame holds a lot more fuel than either the XB12Ss or the XB9R frames. |

I believe that the wheels, brakes(front), and airbox skin are just about the only parts that will go back and forth between the XB and the 1125. R |

The XB has a smaller tank/frame. The fuel capacity is 3.9 gallons or so. If you notice the frame is smaller from top to bottom. The 1125R frame is 5.3 or so gallon frame. It has bit more stretch from top to bottom. If you look at the XB frame towards the front, where it begins to curve outward and towards the back and compare it to the 1125R you can see the difference. You'll notice an extra bend in the 1125R tank. So from what I have seen they are different sizes. I've seen the covers you are talking about and I thought the same but had to take a closer look. I'm pretty sure the outside of the tank is the same as the long models (Uly and the like). |
