So i go to check the two threads that have gained much popularity here, you know the associations and ladies photo thread, and they have been moved to the "backfire board." can anyone tell me how to get to this board, I cant seem to find it. I don't mean a porn site. More like somewhere you could post that picture that might be a bit too much for the family oriented goodness that is the Badweb. Somewhere that you could actually tell someone to effoff instead of trying to out create the mods. Didn't the mods used to rock scoters and peg pants ? | ||

Like life itself, one of the key ingredients to success is knowing what you do and doing it well. I excel in my profession largely because I don't waste time and effort during the day reading dental books. It's really fairly simple. Badweb was created as a gathering site for Buell enthusiasts to share both information and adventures. There was never, nor is there now (I can only speak for myself, I am not a custodian and the decision is theirs) a grand plan to once the site gained traction with Buell to evolve it to include everything from movie reviews to pornography. The day that the hun or youporn start a "work safe" Buell section perhaps it would be considered but until then I hope Badweb remains a place where you can leave your computer to get a beer with your 8 year old at the controls and fear nothing beyond the kid seeing some fascinating places and people. My PERSONAL stake in this is huge. I spend a LOT of time and money (as in nearly 20 hours a week and over $10,000/yr) providing "unofficial" support to Buell owners. Part of my stock in trade (ask the Italian who broke down in August when all the dealers were closed and had a dealer from another country show up in less than 2 hours) and part of that is due to being able to have access at all times. In fact, ask our own Danger Dave about the time he needed help, I got the PM while sitting in class and responded in 11 minutes. Badweb, not me, makes this possible. I don't get a vote. But, if I did I'd hope that Badweb remains a place that:

The web is a great tool that offers a lot of information to many. It has made the world a much smaller place. Anytime my daughters and I come up with a question, the Internet has allowed me to show them what I am talking about. In one case my daughter showed me one of teenage bands out today and she thought the guitarist maneuvers were cool. I told her its called the Windmill and it was coined by a guitarist that played in a band called 'The Who'. She looked at me funny so I googled the 'The Who' and in seconds she was looking at an early Dick Cavet Show You-Tube of 'The Who' with Pete Townshend doing his signature windmill. The web has anything you want including adult material so what ever you are looking for you can find it. That said, I think here on Badweb we need to focus on Buell enthusiasts, their adventures, modification, experiences and even troubles, with their Buells. Due to Badweb I know more about possible problems with my bike than my dealer. It allows me to be prepared like taking a spare belt because my 37,000 miles belt is getting pretty loose and I suspect will fail sometime in the future. I know that because of a collective experience from riders with more mileage on their bikes. I have found modifications that helped me improve some issues with my M2. I have also added my two cents worth on issues like the best seat for us short legged Uly owners. Due to the exclusivity of Buells, the owners usually have some common thread. That common thread has spawned a great community here on badweb which is one of the pleasures of Buell ownership I like most. The bikes are great fun and the company, and I do me the pun, is great. To have such a close relationship with not only other owners, but the manufacturer itself through people like Court, brings Buell ownership to a one-of-a-kind status. Badweb is just one part of that but it needs to be kept focused especially as Buell, the company, grows into new markets. There is a place and time for just about anything. Here on Badweb, it should be the place and time for Buell enthusiasts and such subject matter. All other subject matter needs to be in their proper places, which is not here on badweb. |
