Unmodified 1203cc powered 04 'Bolt with 41mm forks, for other particulars, check my profile on the bike set-up, 170 lb rider. Question... would springs and Penske kit be a better cost effective set up than switching to a lower tree and later 43mm tubes. Is the steering head the same or will modification be needed... Hoping Slaughter can add some insight and direction, will be a combination track / street application, maybe 8 to 10 track days... old fart (me@!) at the controls... Hmmmm... You'd probably be much better off keeping the 41mm forks and re-valving/re-springing them. The slight increase in flex-stiffness with the bigger tubes won't buy you NEARLY as much as re-springing/re-valvling the stock 41mm forks... and besides, you're still really going to have to re-valve/re-spring the bigger forks to see ANY improvement. The only reason I went to the larger forks was that I destroyed my 41mm in the wreck when the engine/swingarm got ripped out of the chassis/forks in a tumbling end-over-end. |
