Or you could do something stupid like trying to remove your trackday sticker from your windscreen with go gone extreme and mess your plastic up. Then paint it black! Don't ask me how I know! LOL! |

I used static cling window tint 5% for about $12 to $15 at your local auto parts store. I removed the windscreen and put the tint through the outside to further protect the wind screen. I worked for me pretty good. Just don't leave it in the rain. Toby |

TJJACK--You have any closeups of the windscreen? I took my clear plastic to a "professional" window tinter and he said the shape of the windscreen made it not possible to apply tint. What was your technique, if any? |

Unfortunately I do not have any close ups. I am in Korea and the baby is Texas. I used the static cling tint on the outside with glass cleaner and a driver's license as a spreader. Pulling and tugging to stretch the film out. Once the tint was stretched out and I got rid of most of the bubbles, I was able to put it back on. You will not be free of bubbles, but they will not be very visible from the outside. Only if you look through the screen from the inside will the bubbles if any are present be visible. You also want the film to be warm and pliable. It is a pain but it looks sharp. Now that I think about it, I could have used a black automotive door molding to clip on the top of the screen to hold the tint better. If the tint film bubbles after a good raining, you can always remove and reuse. Yes, I am going for the knight rider look. I should be getting my Mio knight rider GPS by February to mount on the triple tree. You can view the light bar with theme music on my MySpace page. www.myspace.com/tijuanajack Toby |
