I recently bought a real nice '97 Lightning that someone has worked on and it seems, significantly improved. One of the improvements was replacing the swingarm with what looks like the swingarm from a M2 Cyclone (as far as I can tell). The guy I got it from used a dirt bike stand to prop it up when at rest at home and would just balance the handlebar against something when he was on the road. definitely not the way I want to do it. I have looked for somewhere that I could mount a kickstand, but am coming up short. I have noticed that there are two strong support holes on the bottom of the swingarm on the starboard side of the bike (drive belt guard?), but I can't find a single kickstand made the mounts on the right side. I doubt it's ever been done. I can see no place to do it on the standard (left) side of the bike. I'm sure someone must have run up against this problem before. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. I'm trying to upload a couple of attachments (pictures), but it won't let me. new user inexperience I'm sure. Was the side stand lug cut off the left side? Use XAT to shrink your pictures to the correct size before posting. Brad |
