Buellgator - I wonder if you could do me a solid. Could you dyno the muffler this way: Record the front & rear AFVs on your baseline bike (it should have the 3rd reflash) and then do 3 pulls on the dyno. Take the bike off the dyno, put on the new Drummer and go out and ride the freaking thing for a day. Let the adaptive ECM do its thing and then record the front and rear AFVs. Go back on the dyno and do 3 pulls. Now we'll be closer to a real world comparison. We still don't have rolling resistance, wind resistance and the ram air effect but at least we'll have a stable ECM. |

Hmmm, that pic shows, what appears to be the inlet of the muff going into the left side and the exit, maybe on center? True turbo style muff gents? If so, you should get a gain on the dyno! Can't wait to see the pre/post dynos along with pre/post AFV's after 200 miles OTR! I know, I'm in a very small population to keep punching AFV's...perhaps alone in a fishbowl at this point. LOL! Keep the great work up and Happy Thanks Giving to you all! |

Is that waiting list still in effect? I sure hope I am close to the top...this may be the one. Keep the thing focused on the stock bike with maybe an open airbox or a closed airbox with no filter (anticipating K&N soon) and you will be hitting the vast majority of us here. |

I'll be going on hiatus for awhile, because I'm shifting house next week and have foregone an internet connection as unnecessary. But I'll make an effort to check in from time-to-time to keep tabs on important developments such as the new Drummer. And perhaps to post pics of my 09 R when it arrives (but after it's completed with its significant mods, which are the bmc tailbag, blue x-box and GPR stabiliser). It's been a pleasure to be a part of the Board, and to benefit from the knowledgeable and helpful people who populate it. |

I'll get baselines tomorrow, and then get the "break-in" done Friday and Saturday. Probably have hard numbers early next week. |

Got the pipe on the bike last night. all I have to say is "Holy $4!7!!!" Okay that's not all I have to say. First thing is that the pipe really does look great on the bike. Like it's supposed to be there. Second is the sound of the bike, to me it doesn't sound like any other OHC twin I've ever heard. It sounds MEAN! Letting the bike get up to operating temps was enough to get my heart going. Click the bike into first and pull away, thinking "does first gear feel smoother? Nah I must just be making that up in my head." However it's like that in every gear. It certainly feels like there is more power available alot sooner everywhere. Rolling down the road in fifth gear, I let the bike idle down to 2500 rpm, and rolled the throttle open. I got satisfyingly smooth acceleration. No chugging, no rattling, just acceleration. On the bike the pipe is honestly no louder than the stainless drummer I had on my XB. Rolling in sixth gear about 4000 rpm, and I have always downshifted from there to get good acceleration for passing. I thought "Well I'll just roll it open, and see what happens." I looked down and to my surprise was well into the triple digits. WOW! So I shifted down to fourth, and began making some pulls from 4000 rpm, this bike moved before, but now it REALLY moves, almost felt like with a lighter rider on the bike it might power wheelie there. I passed one car in third gear and with brisk acceleration the front tire was certainly feeling like it wasn't making a whole lot of contact with the ground. Since I'm taking it kind of easy on the new pipe right now I wasn't hammering it real hard in first or second. I did however roll the throttle open quickly one time in first. The front end was definitely off the ground, and before I knew it I was bouncing off the rev limiter. All in all I put about 50 miles on the bike last night, and it felt great the whole time. No rich or lean pop anywhere. I'm very excited to get it back on the dyno and see what happens. I am extremely optimistic!!! I think Kevin may have nailed another one out of the park on his first swing! |

Kevin's sending me #2 prototype Monday. I can't wait to try it out on the road. It's cold as hell here but I'm gonna get out & ride anyway. I'm really interested in what it does at low rpms. Every Drummer I've ever owned really woke up the bottom as well as improving the top. I'll try to get some sound clips. |
