well this is the 2nd time this has happened in the last couple weeks. just a few minutes ago i was attempting to get to top speed on the CR... i was in the top of 5th around 10k rpm (about 145ish)...shifted into 6 and stayed on it for a sec (i think i was at 148 when i shut it down)...anyway...i slowed down to around 70mph and then attempted to downshift and nothing...i felt like i was just pushing on concrete...i could move the shifter up, but it was loose... i pulled over and after about 2 minutes of pushing up and down on the shifter, i finally got it in first. anyone got any ideas? has this happened to anyone else? BTW....i was not powershifting at all.. (Message edited by faslanexb12r on December 15, 2008) |

I just love these "after dark" trackdays (tracknights?)... (Stupid) Question: did you use the clutch for the downshifts? |

This last weekend at the track I downshifted into a false neutral 3 times. In my case I think its a problem of me not thinking. Once I started paying attention to what I was doing it was not a problem. Maybe i'm soft shifting. Whatever, it's a real thrill going into the first turn on the main straight at 130 and missing your downshift. |

by false neutral...do you mean the light came on as though you were in neutral, but really wasn't? or you we down shifting....thought you were in a lower gear, but you were actually in neutral... the second sounds more likely to me...as you were going 130mph and no need to be in nuetral at those speeds |

Hmmm... I've never had the shifter go stiff on me... I've always been able to down shift... sometimes, I get a stall with a throttle blip, but this is relatively rare (and I expect will disappear with the 3rd reflash once I get it). How's your clutch hydraulic fluid (level, type)? Are you using the right kind of engine oil (i.e., a true motorcycle formulation)? Sometimes the wrong oil will do funny things with the tranny... |

Josh, don't really have time to look for lights when racing. When you expect the motor to be slowing you down but it goes to idle when you downshift, you figure it out real quick. Pulling the clutch and downshifting again, then letting to clutch out real slow takes care of it. At least it has for me so far. |

I've had a issue with mine at the track . I went to shift in 3rd gear and it got stiff on me . I then went to shift down and she wouldn't go . It would only shift when I would practicly stand on the shifter it was like this for another 200 miles . It then went away when I went for a ride in Ohio to the triple nickle then back to usual. Btw I still get I false nuetral too . |

Andrew, what oil are you using? When you had your problems had it been a while since a change? I had between 200 & 300 miles on my oil when I had my problems. I'm wandering if a switch to a different brand would help. I use Syn 3 now. |
