1. Does anyone make brake and shifter levers that fold? I tried TOURATECH, but no one will give me an answer as to weather they still make them. I tried the P/N search and came up nil. And #2, is there any serious attempts to make a on/off road tyre for the Uly? Something that fits. I live and ride in Alaska and am in need if something more aggressive than OEM. They[OEM] just don't cut it on ATV/hunting trails. I've tried loading pics but keep getting shot down when I go to post them. Thanks- |

You know, a lot of folks diss them, but I love the D616 Dunlops that came stock on my 06. They're awesome on gravel and wet dirt, but I haven't hit anything deep/super-soft. Fire roads, "through the yard" trips, wet leaves, and even one or two trips up some mild (emphasis on MILD) singletrack, and I've been very impressed. Don't get me wrong - not a dirtbike, and I know that...but not "black ice lack-of-traction" feeling, either. |

I seem to remember a coment about Avon tyres that were more off road. |

how off road you wanna go ?
These are the next set (Avon Super Moto Wet Tires) . The MT-60s from Pirelli do a nice job too. |

(Avon Super Moto Wet Tires) You may already know this, but I tried the Avon Supermoto rain tires...the rear lasted about 1,000 miles. Front much more. Worked fine, though. I recommend Distanzias. Good on/off pavement. |

CityXslicker, tread pattern looks like flat track tires for gokarting on clay. |

oooooh dont get me started on the Distanzias. There are on there now. I wont be revisiting them. They wash out at 45-52 mph on peagravel. NOT confidence inspiring. I missed the Dr Greg review of the Supermotos, but they were what Joe & Crew ran up Pikes Peak, so I figured I would give them a try. Scorps are still the best all around for all the stuff that I have done, the MT-60s are better off road, but have a short life span on pavement mix (3500) |

Same here, but my rears (2) lasted only 1000 miles or so on a KTM Duke II (625cc single cylinder) I'd almost be afraid to see how they'd hold up on a Uly (or Uly 9 -- Cityslicker ) I liked them, other than the wear ! |

I'm always torn between wear and traction. Torque eats tires. |

Hmmm, well dirt traction means more to me up here(AK) than road traction, our roads suck, and w/all the sand they drop in the winter months a good pair of tires keeps the rubber side where it needs to be...down. Guess, i'll try the D616's, untill someone makes shoes that fit this great bike. My Uly's been everywhere my old XR650 has been, not as fast, but getting there nonetheless. |
