Download ECMspy, buy a cable, and give it a try. Just make sure the first thing you do is fetch the stock eprom from you bike and save it to your hard drive. That way if you don't like your results you can always change it back to stock. Even if you only use it to do TPS resets, ECMspy is worth having (Message edited by garyz28 on December 01, 2008) |

i'm tired of playing. anyway you guys have fun with it from here out. if you have questions Turk has the answers he knows all. he knows more than buell and the builders of the ecm. even more than guys like http://www.cobbtuning.com/ neither are no match to turk the unknown. as he says look up his and my post you will see why. i tried also. turk has never posted any tuning help. besides he knows. knows what? mike cobb |

I´m sorry to disturb here but I think none of You is right regarding the OL correction. Unfortunately the two values (Default Open Loop Corr. and Open Loop Enrich. delay) have been written into the same box. But they are not interrelated. Default Open Loop Correction is just one more multiplier for all OL cells while Open Loop Enrichment Delay is adressed to the LFuel value. If the engine is running lean for more than "Delay Time" seconds in OL the LFuel value will be advanced instead of kicking in the Default Open Loop Correction value. Easy example: Default Open Loop Correction is set to 105% Open Loop Enrich. delay is set to 3 LFuel (=AFV) is 110% Engine is in OL with AF reading on lean side for more than 3 seconds What happens is: LFuel ist increased from 110% to maybe 115% (NOT TO 105%). If still on the lean side LFuel is further increasd to maybe 120%. This goes on until AF readings change to rich. Regards Alex |

Very precise description. The menu is indeed misleading, as OL enrichment is like WOT enrichment. The factor AFV will be increased is stored in the "AFV Increase Factor" value (IIRC ~105%). There's at least one reason not to enter 0 in the delay: what does a zero delay really mean? Will the AFV increased every time a lean mixture is monitored? That would be a bad idea then. In OL the AFV will increase only, thus even some singular events might send AFV through the roof. OL learn is not meant for fuel adaption, but more as a livesaver for the engine, just in case things go really wrong. |

Just because ECMSpy lists a parameter a certain way doesn't mean that's what it is or what it does. Remember, ECMSpy is a knockoff program that someone developed without having all of the information. I'm not saying it's not well done or that people didn't do some research, but in some cases what it is and what it says are not accurate. |

What happens is: LFuel ist increased from 110% to maybe 115% (NOT TO 105%). Only other note is that AFV will go from 110% to 110%x105% or 105.5%. |

that is 100% correct thanks alex. i couldnt ever explain it that good. yes this is how its targeted. thats why is so critical to get the lfuel spot on 100% like my bike runs 99% of the time. then it works perfectly for me. if you have a awful map well its awful settings. all areas must work together or poof you have trouble. next!! wow turk finally said a possitive. thanks and gunter you are always correct. as usual. thanks to all. can we get more info on other datas out side posted in a advanced section and all get along???? sincerly mike |
