Got an S1 tail section, single seat, tail & signal lights... Intend on putting on my 2000 M2.

Anyone out there done this before that may have some suggestions.

Haven't started this winter project yet and just wanted to hear something from someone who has done this. (experience is life's best teacher)

Check with Dana (BADS1) he did it to a previous bike before his New XB12.

Look in the classifieds, there is a young man who has done exactly what you are planning. M2 for sale...seems like it was early november or late October.

Ben....Dana could give you some more specifics but here's what I know based on our conversations.

The tail section of the frame had be to cut, reshaped and welded. This then led to having cut, shape & weld the tubes that come up from the footpeg area. The guy that did his bike used an S1 to build the jig. I talked to him about having the same done to one of my S3 frames. He said it would cost me $700. In his words, it as a "pain in the ass".

My solution....I bought an S1W rolling chassis. I'll be rebuilding the complete bike this winter using a 1998 S3T motor.

Good luck with your project. I just don't have the welding skills to do it your way.
