Hello, My AFV is down to 88,8 I need as much advise as possible, i have a 2006 Ulysses with a Jardine, K&N, open air box, catch can, and a race eprom installed, I do have a palm to read parameters, but form a guy that posts here who lives close to me gave me 5 possible problems, my wonder is if form the readings i can get from the palm i can trace the problem and either get the part that is giving the problem or sorting the problem out. Thanx to all. |

88.8 AFV indicates rich fuel mixture, but just "a little" rich. I believe AFV's routinely fluctuate in a tuned engine between 110% to 90% as normal response to air-temperatures, altitudes, gasolines, etc. However, I'm in learning mode on this topic, too. I'd like to see references or info down this thread that expand on data-logging with a Palm, obtaining the cable, etc. |

the cable for the palm was made using standart conector (in this case the one you plug to the car) and the ecm spy cable, a friend did it, so he made a second conector so i conector so that i can either conect it to the palm or the lap top, if i have a chance i'll take some pics and ask my friend wich cable goes with wich one so with a bit of patience could be done I must admit i have a bit of air leak when the elbow( we call it like this in spanish) hooks in to the header the pipe is a jardine, i've ordered some paste to solve this. when i get ti sorted out, i'll post so we have a bit more info about this topic. |

The exhaust leak is affecting your AFV by making the ECM "think" that the motor is running too rich. It is effectively taking ~12% fuel away to maintain the target AFR of ~13.5. I hope someone will correct me if I am talking out of my ***hole! |

Sorry, I meant the AFR of 14.7 not 13.5. |

The "Edit Post" button "" is there to serve you. Pontlee, If the bike is running well, I'd not be too concerned, just vigilant. If the bike is not running well, I'd start diagnosis with a TPS reset, then the O2 sensor, then the other related sensors (engine temperature, intake air temperature, throttle position sensor) then the fuel pump and injectors. Maybe in between somewhere I'd be sure to check and verify that all electrical grounds were good and proper. |

Hello, Thanx to all for the tips and info given, after all it was fine, i checked the afv whith the bike cold and in the garage after a few days stopped, so as Buellisticx1 told me it was reading the instant AFV, so i went to he high way with the palm, reset the AFV to 100 and did a 5 minutes run around 3500/4000 revs, then i stopped and used the palm again and the reading was 100, so i guess all is fine. Thank you, Miguel. |

I'm glad it all worked fine. Remember always check the AFV after the engine was warm up at normal operating temperature, OK? |
