I’m back from a big Sunday ride on my Bolt a few months back and I get to the last set of lights before the start of the Freeway. A big V-Rod Harley pulls up alongside me in the other lane. Lights change; off we roll and sit side by side, cruising along for around 10 minutes. He’s in the outside lane so when we catch traffic I let him roll in front and bloody hell, he’s a patched Hells Angel. He doesn’t throttle off at all and just forces a path through the cars. I blat along a respectful distance behind in the mad wake he’s creating. Finally we’re clear again and I roll up alongside him for a last couple of minutes before he peels off to an exit lane. No acknowledgement from him the whole way but then no meat cleaver in my helmet or axe in my airbox either. Friendliest gang rider encounter I’ve ever had. He must have liked Bolts. Either that or he was on horse tranquilizers. Anybody else “lived to tell the tale”? |

I really don't know a whole lot about this gang but they always look pissed off and have super loud bikes. But anyways one time while stuck in traffic, a Black Scorpion rolled on by my making his way through traffic and cut in with me. There also was no acknowledgement and I followed him up the side of the road, to the front of traffic and then he was off. Its always nice knowing there is some Harely under you, for times like these. They can't hate you as much as a Jap bike. |

Easy does it 9m9knight. FYI you must first be Recon and then you may chooseto go Force. I also heard that the USMC may be changing their Force to something a bit different. Along the lines of MARSOC. At any rate, we could always use a few good men. |

I don't think you are supposed to be ascared of club members unless you belong to a club that has beef with the club in question. |

Well, since I need to start posting here, I guess this is as good a place to start as any. 9mm- The physical part is easy- it's the mental part that will get you every time. In time you will learn something called "crawl, walk, run" As far as the MCs are concerned- no need for d*ck sizing with a patch holder. Quick way to get your young nose swatted. YMMV Aaron (Message edited by m1marty on November 19, 2008) |

Maybe you should go to their website and leave a message in their guestbook. www.hells-angels.com It's so funny how modernized we have become. Nothing says "were bad" like a meet the crew page. |

I was the first one to get yelled at on the Bus before we even got off because I smiled. He screams with his lost voice "you think this is F*cking Funny?" I awnser "no sir" he yells back "louder!" I said it louder then he gets so close to my face i feel his spit on my cheek "SCREAM IT!" I did! I enjoyed the experince. and being also sent to Military Acadamy for 2 weeks} I was born ready!} |

I heard that the Hells Angels are no where near as bad as they used to be, there's a lot worse gangs out there now. I used to work for one of the heads of a gang when I did construction, real nice guy for the most part, and a few of the guys I worked with were in the gang also. I have heard some awful stories about their meetings while working with them, the one guy I tried my hardest to never look at, makes me glad I got an education and got the crap out of there. |

Pack mentality. Doesn't just happen in 'gangs'. Any organisation that has an interest in doing something a certain way and involves pride will have it. It's what the pack does that is the difference. I prefer to think and act for myself. Not saying I am better, just different. |

9m9knight, perhaps you had better let the ability catch up to the ambition. You can be as keen as hell, but if you do not have the ability/skill then you are just another statistic waiting to happen. Not being unkind. Just hoping you take my advice and live a little longer. |

Force Recon Marine here.. EAS 10/92. With the current attitude you have going there it wont happen. Confidence will work but arrogance will bite your ass pretty damn hard. Work on your open water swims, and run your ass off. Also Force was absorbed along time ago by the Batallion level and the entire Reconnaissance Batallion was absorbed into MARSOC in Feb of 2006. Alot has changed since I was there good luck to you but remember your NOT a Marine yet. |

Oh and on the actual subject, Members of the 81 are some of the most down to earth and nicest guys I have ever met. The stigma of being a badass, beat you down for looking at me shit was created by the media a long while ago. Sure there are some that try and portray that image but the majority is just the opposite. Glad you had a good experience and are alive to tell it. LOL |

Since some of you know about m/c gangs here maybe I can get a questions answered. Which gang in Florida has a patch of a big Spade like an ace of spades? It had a red trim and a black border. I followed right behind him for about 10 miles and we talked at a stop light. He was on a big HD Electra Glide. He looked pretty bad ass but didn't give me any grief. Beautiful fall day here and at a stop light we talked about how perfect the day was for riding. He even said he like Buells. (Message edited by Zane on November 19, 2008) |

I used to live around the corner from the H.A. club house in oakland. We would walk by and check out the bikes (never touching or getting to close) They never did anything other than say hi or when we'd say nice bike the would say thanks. I think they have a bad rap. I'm sure if you piss them off they might kick your a$$ but don't piss them off.... |

one thing i have learned from my many years working the street... its real easy to go from "macho man" to "dead man"... i have seen several of the type, lying face down in the street doing the funky chicken, because some little guy popped a 22 cal short in his ashe... the best advice i can give someone, is if you cant resist "giving the finger", cut it off as it will get you killed.... although its hard to do sometime... have you noticed how few gangs you see at bikeweek? its because the police light their ashe up the day before and run them out of town... thank goodness! in the old days, we had a lot of gang problems in florida, not so much anymore... |

I got the Warlocks just down the street from me here in Philly. Older guys that have sick bikes and hang outside showing them off wed's & sunday nights. Whats crazy is how they guard the door into the club. The way I've seen it, is they make more fun of the guys who try and look the part, then the guys who ride for real. I don't think it matters what you ride, just that you show them respect. Its not a tuff guy thing at all I feel. I always feel safe riding along/passing/parking/ sitting near them. But would I pull a wheelie pass their shop or rev my bike up near them, NO. That would be disrespectfull, and thats where the problem would be. They know my bike and from what I can see & feel, they think its cool. I think its the sound it makes as I go by. They really seem like a bunch of cool guys. But I would deff not mess with them. |

9m9knight.... you have a lot of experience to gain before you can become a Marine. And speaking from my personal experience with OMG's(outlaw Motorcycle Gangs) Be careful... Dont even Act like your a bad ass because you do not have as many friends as they do and 95% of them have a gun or knife. |

I lived near a motorcycle "club" here in Baltimore City. From what I knew, they were pretty rough guys, all harleys, tats, big old beards. They also use to cause a lotta trouble wherever they went. They never said a word to me, but stared me down. Scary people. Keep in mind OMG's are the #1 distributor of meth in the country. Buncha meth runners, scary stuff. |
