I was by Latus HD to day and they had a CR with the upright bars, providing a riding position I much prefer over the cafe racer bars. The fit for me was perfect. Any bike I buy has to do double duty as a short to medium range tourer. Is anybody aware of wind shield options for the upright bars on the CR? Not talkin' barn door like the Road King sort of windshield here, just something to take the wind load off without causing excessive buffeting. The R isn't under consideration for the moment as I don't want a full time fairing. I prefer the open air feel unless I'm riding a few hundred miles. |

Laminar made a nice one for the Lightning. I think it fits your criteria. It is not a wind blocker as much as it's a wind smoother. You may want to make contact with them to see if a CR version might be a possibility. I am sure a donor bike would be necessary--they are in Santa Ana, CA.

Thanks, Fresno. I envision needing a Laminar Lip. I have one on my current bike and it works well. But I'd also like a screen that comes up 10"-15" (on which the lip would go); maybe something like the windscreen on the XB12XT. |
