I was out enjoying a ride on the last decent day of the year yesterday, and I found myself at Western Reserve HD. When I went in, Jim (Teach?), noticed I was riding a sportbike and showed me the fully faired 1125R. Nice ride. He asked if I would like a test ride on an 1125. Would I!

The bike blew me away. What a great ride! The riding position was a little hard on my shoulders and upper back because the clip ons are a bit lower than I am used to. Also having to hold on for my life because the thing pulls like a freight train was probably a contributing factor. Otherwise the ergos are excellent. If I couldn't adapt, certainly the handlebar option would solve that. I also noticed the heat through the frame issue. I imagine it might get uncomfortable above 80 degrees ambient temp. Putting along at 20 mph in a school zone, the thing fuelled as well as my carbureted Suzuki.

The guys at Western Reserve are top notch. They definitely care about the Buell line, they ride them and it shows. I would go right past the two closer HD dealers to get my Buell there if I decide to go that route. Thanks again!

Jim

These bikes are leaps and bounds ahead of what you ride now. Glad you enjoyed the ride. Now Support the American economy and buy one!

Thanks so much for the great words. I was in the dealership that day to pick up some things and when I saw you riding in on your bike I thought you might be interested in looking at Buells. I am glad you had a good experience on the 1125R!

The whole dealership has jumped on the Buell bandwagon and it is so interesting in seeing the more of the dealer's "hard core Harley guys" getting excited about the Buells. What has happened with us is that instead of treating Buells like the "poor relation" at our dealership, it is accepted as our brother.

GO BUELL!!

Freight Dog,
You found a great Buell Dealer in Western Reserve and Teach. In September, I shopped for an 09 1125R and it was a horror story. One dealer didn't know the difference between an 1125R and a 1125CR. Another dealer didn't know they came in colors other than black. One dealer wanted to charge $600 over MSRP to order it. When I shopped around for a reasonable price, they grudgingly matched it but would not do any paperwork or take a down payment. After five weeks of screwing around with them, they still hadn't even ordered the bike. (I can't help but wonder if they were going to jack up the price once it came in.)
I called Teach and the deal was done in less than two days. He even gave me projected shipping dates. This was the first dealer I spoke with who knew more about Buells than I did. Unfortunately, Buell is now a little behind schedule in 1125R production and I am waiting like a kid with his knees crossed playing hide n seek.
Take the plunge Freight Dog. I think we have a keeper in Western Reserve.

We (the dealership and myself) can't express how appreciative we are for the really kind comments about us. We are Buell enthusiasts who happen to work at a Buell dealership. We try to treat customers like we would would like to be treated, as a customer.

Thank all of you for your really kind words.

Jim
