don't know i supercleaned (isopropyl alcohol) i superglued 2 years ago....still ok |

Thanks for your reply Eddie. I have another questions for y'all. I noticed a little oil dribble and found it coming from my Clutch Inspection Cover. Went to torque it back to factory spec and found the bottom screw is stripped. Am I drilling and tapping at this point or is there something I haven't thought of? Thanks, |

i had the same problem and did the helio coil. just be careful not to go through the inside of the primary. and don't go to a bigger size screw.so far it's held up. if you have any problem i had gotten another outer primary from koz and haven't used it. good luck either way |

I used Gorilla glue for the fork bumper/stop. Then I wrapped around the frame with electrical tape to hold it while the glue set. Someday, I'll take the tape off to see if it held. |

ohh i have a feeling that the gorilla glue did the trick that stuff is GREAT same with the gorilla tape SO STRONG |

Be careful using Gorilla glue. It foams slightly while it sets and it can be messy if you use too much. I glued mine back on with the superglue Buell uses in the bump stop kit (it looks like Crazyglue) and they've stayed on for 7 years. The original ones didn't last the first year for some reason. If anyone orders the bumpstop kit, you only need one, not two (like the guy at the parts counter said I did). |

Well, I super cleaned, (Isopropyl alcohol) and then Gorilla glued taping the bumpstop with electrical tape for compression. We'll see what happens. Thanks all. |

Dlaubscher, I also can get a spare primary cover to you if you'd like. just the stock silver sandcast looking thing from my '00 m2. No cost but the shipping, left it a a buddies house when we swapped it out, I'll see if he still has it in his garage... |

I use double sided adhesive carpet tape. Works good if frame has been cleaned thoroughly by dint of break cleaner. Ralph |

My bumpstops were glued onto the upper frame tubes, not the lower ones like pictured above. I tried both locations when I glued new ones on, but the stock (for me) upper location gives you more steering lock before the tubes hit the stops. |

Is there a reason everyone is loosing the rubber bumpers off the frame? Also, a question about the hard saddle bags. Were those made by Buell or an aftermarket company? I'm kind of looking for bags to put on my M2. |

My rubber bumpers fell off at 50 miles. The bike had sat on the showroom floor for a few years when I bought it new. What I hear about the S3 bags is not all good. Later models improved the latches & hinges. Mounting brackets would have to be fabricated. I run soft luggage, ( 3 different brands/colors, LOL ) and my saddle bags are old Vetter Bagman's. The new Ulysses bags are supposed to be awesome though. Again, fab your own adapters....Then post pics & plans PLEASE. |

I think the glue lasts longer when you bang it to full lock in the twisties from time to time, sort of 're-seats' the bumpers. (Message edited by jayvee on January 18, 2008) |

I have S3 saddle bags on my M2. I love them. E-Z on E-z off. The mounting brackets to the frame are 2 inch corner brackets from K-mart for 3 bucks. I have had no issue with the hinges. Just have to careful and not force things. Happy Buelling! |

Thanks to everyone for their input in my "Y mount nightmare thread". I finally found some quiet time and got her done at 430 this morning. The toughest part about it all was having to wait for daylight to fire her up. I took her out for a short jaunt and re-checked the fit of all nuts and bolts afterwards. Aside from having to re-tighten the muff tabs to the Z mount, all is well and she purrs like a pissed off tiger. The V&H sounded "tinny" and "bubbly" compared to this D&D and I am very pleased with the new tone. Im also pleased with the new "oomph" the bike has. I didnt expect a big performance difference with the D&D, but now it seems that a twist in 1st gear will easily power the front tire up. I'll keep it down for now though, as Id like to make it to Suches this year. Thanks again, everyone. Folks like you are what makes Badweb such a great resource. Thanks for all the advise on the bumpstop and stripped primary screw. I used the helicoil and it worked like a charm! No leaking and just reused the same screw. Changed the o'ring of course. Gorilla glue holding the bumpstop well so far and It's been cold. 20+ degrees and it hasn't fallen off yet! |

Hello, Another question. I have the Pro-series muffler and there is fiberglass leaking out of a hole in the bottom. Is there supposed to be a plug in that? Or does this mean it's time to repack the muffler? Thanks, |

I believe the Pro-series is a Supertrapp, which needs repacking on occasion. There was some discussion on it in the muffler thread in the main old school topics. |
