Hey, I have an 09 with less than 200 miles on it. It has started every time with no problems, however after a short Lowes run she was up to temp and I stopped at a friends house. When I tried to restart, nothing. NO starter clicking or anything. Kill switch is off, checked battery- has 12.6v. Tried jumping-14.3v. still nothing. Can hear slight clicking at fuses. Could it be a fuse? Short? Any ideas? |

Check the fuse, yes. But also check the battery ground cable. Do the light come on when you turn on the ignition? Is the fuel pump spinning? |

Check battery cables and ground at the frame stud/nut. Usually, loose connection is the culpret. If all are tight, looksee at the starter solenoid under the seat, next to the rear brake reservoir for tight. Might as well also check the connection nut on the starter in front...ya just never know... Best of diagnostic luck prior to rollin' to the dealer... mm |

It turned out to be a blown headlight fuse. Apparently if the fuse is blown the bike will not start. Because after replacing it the bike would start. Pulling the fuse the bike would not start. I replaced the stock headlights with HID lights and one of the connections was not tight causing a short blowing the fuse. Thanks for the info. |

FWIW - the bike will run if you pull the headlight fuse after starting. It's in the start circuit, not run. Useful if racing and you want to kill the lights. Carry a fuse. Z |
