So I was going to type a big long philosophical bit about what my ideal sport touring bike is, but instead just take it as this - the bike pictures below is IT for me. 3-peice quick-detach hard luggage set (goes on and off in about 3 seconds), a Zumo 550 GPS for directions and tunes, and a full tank of gas.
For more info on the bags, look here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/361473.html?1210962106 This picture was taken before I took off the stock mirrors/turnsignals. I now have small Rizoma LED turn signals mounted next to the headlight, and bar-end mirrors on order. Basically, clicking on the bags and attaching the Zumo and plugging into the accessory plug behind the fly screen turns this street bike into an ST in about 3 minutes. Additionally, I'll be building a new tail-tidy over the winter, which will also be quick-detach in the sense that a few screws and easily accessible plugs will allow me to take off the plate and turn signals very easily. This coupled with just taking off the bar-end mirrors and installing regular bar ends gives me a track-day bike. The Buell Convertibike. |

Very impressive work! I like. Do you a photo of the brackets when the bags are off, by chance? |

Excellent job Xl1200R! By the way, you'll love what the bar end mirrors do! All but kill the vibs felt in your paws...that and you can see at all rpms! mm |

Neil - no, no 2-up. If I we were going anywhere long enough where we'd need luggage, she'd be on her own bike. If you click the link in my fist post it shows the bracket I made. |
