I've had the '09 reflash done. It does seem to have helped the stumbling, though I never really had that problem anyway, so it's hard to tell. But, I'm most definitely NOT getting the other benefits. Fuel economy is actually down a couple of MPG to about 29/30, and I don't notice the engine any cooler in stop and go. Anyone else have the 09 reflash and not get the fuel and temp benefits everyone else is raving about? Is there an easy way to check my software version? What should it say if correctly on the 09 software? |

The dealer should have given you a printout showing the version you had and what you got. The latest one is M3HUS03Z as I recall. Previous version on mine ended in a Y. (Message edited by d_adams on October 27, 2008) |

> The latest one is M3HUS03Z as I recall. Thanks. Do you know how to check the version without special tools? |

Mine has been smooth running and cool since the reflash. I am still only getting 31-33 mpg, and that is checking by fill up and trip meter, not instrument calculations. That has shown me averaging 34 mpg. |

I believe the only way is when they hook the digital tech up to the bike. I watched when they did mine. |

oh, and I ride like a loon, so it's not like I'm disappointed to get 30MPG, just saw others here getting 38 or so and started salavating at the idea of a sportbike with a 200mi tank range! |

I saw huge improvements in the areas described in the bulletin, my MPG is way up from what it was but the only way i can get 40-50mpg is when i drive like a pansy and never go above 3k rpms. which is no fun so i get 33-37 with driving more normal sportbike speeds. |

I have spoken with guys at the dealership that also own 1125r's and one told me he got 10 to 15% more fuel economy out of his flash upgrade. I only got about 2 to 4 miles per gallon more, but then again I am an aggressive rider. |

I got the reflash done in conjunction with my 12K service last week. I did a ride this weekend (750 miles). The riding was on twisty public roads, but I was riding responsibly. I used to get 33MPG on rides like this. This weekend I averaged 40! I went past the 180M mark before the fuel light came on. Average CT were high 170ies (90 degree ambient) and that is down at least 10 degrees from pre-reflash. Like jdugger, mine did not stumble and shudder before, but there is a perceptible but small improvement in the way it runs. It never gave me troubles starting when the engine is hot. So that's an improvement. If I were you, I'd inquire at the dealer about the reflash. Maybe they thought it took and it did not after all. |
