In deed you better, I plan I picking up an exercise bike or something and start working out now that riding season is nearing an end and I'll be spending more time sittin around watchin tv. |

Lost one stinkin pound this week, down to 217. In a few weeks I'll have the cash to buy either an eliptical or exercise bike to use while watching TV instead of riding the couch. |

To drop as much as you have without working out is GREAT!! Just think how much you will be able shed once you start working out. I'm on the treadmill every morning. If I wasn't I'd putting back on faster than I lost it. |

I thought about gettin a mill, but I'd never use it as I hate running. I'm leaning towards a bike, one with handles that move with the pedals to make it more of a full body workout. |

Cheated all weekend. We were doing a drama production at the church and I was there all weekend from 10 am to midnight every night. Anyway only saw 1 pound drop this week. If you plan on using it every day, buy a good gym quality piece of equipment. I bought a $700 elliptical trainer at Sears a couple of years ago and within 6 months of using it twice a day for 1/2 hr sessions it was loose, noisy and falling apart. About a year and a half ago, I bought an elliptical trainer from a local dealer that outfits condo associations with their equipment. The thing is quiet and smooth and shows no wear. It pays to buy quality if you plan on using it every day. 2. If you buy an elliptical trainer, make sure you get one with a stride that matches your step. I have fairly short legs and find a 19" stride is best for me. However, my wife has long legs and finds that my elliptical trainer starts to hurt her knee. She prefers to use our treadmill. 3. If you plan to watch TV while using, I found that elliptical trainers and bicycles are best. Treadmills are just too noisy. Just my $.02 |

Time to get serious and drop the final 10-15 lbs. I'm still working out daily. My brother-in-law and his family has been visiting from Germany for the past 3 weeks and we've been eating out 3-4 times a week. Also, we had a big Thanksgiving meal on Monday since they won't be here for it. Can't seem to get away from food. At least I haven't been gaining. |

Uh, hi, I'm sneaking back in the side door of this thread having not made much gains/loss for the year. So, starting off again, current state at, uh, I'd better check when I get home, but I think the scale said 236 or 238. |

I forgot all about this thread I too am in a funk hovering at 240 to 245 I have been working a lot and playing a ton of hockey but haven't been to the gym in a few months. |

Checked the scale last night when I got home, it was on 239 so that's my current starting point. The scale is an old doctor's office cast iron balance beam with the sliding weights, which makes it a nice and quick easy read to see if one is up or down from the previous weighing. |
