Dyna It is not in the ecm. it is connected on the side of the throttle body. The reason it sometimes need recalibration is that it physically moves with the vibration. the ecm just reads info from it. |

therefore simply thinking that you can just swap it and be alright. is kinda misleading. Yes it is set in the brain of the ecm. but say you are switching out ecm and the last time you reset it is in there in its brain. But the tps physically moved. Its zero point is no longer its zero point. Maybe not a big deal but a deal none the less |

Thanks for all the info guys. Spiderman - turns out you were right. I attempted to cancel my order at the dealer (store credit only) in order to buy the kit from Dave. A half hour later I got a call from the parts manager telling me that it would be in on Wednesday. Doh! All that hassle for nothing. I checked twice with two different parts counter people and got the same answer "indefinite backorder". Feels like their computer order tracking system needs an upgrade. Steve |

Dave, I'll make it up to you in the future, bro. I was originally trying to be loyal to the local dealer in hopes that he might return the favor in the future. The "store credit only" policy is entirely understandable on special orders, but not on an "indefinite backorder" IMHO. We'll see how we make out on the TPS reset. Steve |

No problem Steve, I always recommend people go to their local dealers first. Ride to the edge! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

How can you be his local dealer? He is from Jersey, you are from Michigan? I am so confused. Ride to the edge! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

No no no. I am the one who told him about the mix up. Yes it is available, well in a manner of speaking the kit is backordered. They may have been confused, the part number has been superceeded to 82003-02YB That was a few days ago. edited by spiderman on November 29, 2003 |
