i have a firebolt, but like the riding position of the lightening. Just thinking if it would be a major problem.

Hey- I'm not trying to sound like a ass or anything, but I don't understand why people would want to change Lightning to Firebolt or visa versa. Why didn't you all decide this before you bought the bike? Thats what I did, I did not want the leaned over position of the XB9R or the fairing. ( even though I thought it was a nice bike!) I chose the Lightning cuz of the upright riding position. (felt more comfortable to me) |

Frankie- If you want the riding position of the Lightning, You can try getting the superbike handlebar conversion for it from Trojan Horse. |

Frankie, what color is your plastic? As far as I know, some of the major parts that would need changing would be: Headlight assembly, bars- clip ons, maybe instrument panel, rear subframe, seats and of course, plastics. I have thought of doing the reverse on mine: lightning to firebolt. To answer Blzngbueller: I do like the riding position of the S, but I think the R might feel more natural to me. I thought I was ready for more of an upright position, but I might have been wrong. Imagine that. This is after 2K miles on the S.

I would buy the S pegs first, you might find that extra 1" of room makes the bike feel better for you. If not, youve already got the start of your conversion! Top Triple Tree/Yokes and handlebars next and take it from there but the yokes and pegs should give the same riding position as an S. Cya Stot |

the biggest problem is all the electronics got get put somewhere. maybe you can just try the upper triple tree and handle bars and see it that works for ya. but like stot said the s pegs make it ver comfortable |
