I was looking through the Iron Butt website trying to see if anyone had ever done a certified 1000 mile day on an 1125r. Turns out it's been done twice. By the same guy: Name Hometown Date Motorcycle Mileage Tim Ivanoff Breaux Bridge, LA 07/01/08 Buell 1125R 1,099 Tim Ivanoff Breaux Bridge, LA 07/06/08 Buell 1125R 1,176 Congrats! |

I think he might still be recovering from those rides. That is really amazing and to think he did it 5 days apart. Seems like two legs of a round trip, wonder where he went? |

Homecoming and back. I know Tim. Whenever I can get away from work I see him out at our local track. Nice guy with the handle mustach coming out the bottom of his helmet. hahaha He can get around the track pretty fast too. Art |

His BWB username is 'Smoke'. Nice guy. I'm sure he'll find his way here to this thread sooner or later. |

Homecoming and back. Shoulda recognized that from the dates. Nice job. I love my R, but traveling 1,000 miles in a day is NOT something I see myself doing. |

hey guys! that was me. i did another one non recorded in september to the INDY MotoGp. it was good fun. i don't recommend doing that on the 1125 in summer again. it was fine running up to Wisconsin and arriving in the wee hours but coming home through mississippi after leaving road america sunday afternoon i melted the glue out of the soles of my riding boots and duct taped them back together for the finish. 100F outside that afternoon. maybe the new reflash will keep them together next time. ride safe, tim |

This is Tim and a few of us at Road America on Sunday during homecoming. He's about to depart on his second Iron butt of the week. The fact that he has slept the last two nights on the bare wood floor of the back of Petes trailer with his rolled up leather jacket as a pillow didnt seem to phase him. Tim = tough as nails. Seth |

Kinda sounds like a requiem here, but yeah - Him and Don(Oz666) had the best moustaches at Homecoming. Don't let that white hair fool ya, he's only 27. Z |

don (oz666) said it best, that's not a mustache, that's a thigh tickler. the 1125R is a good tourer but better range would make it easier. 150 mile legs at 85. i took the road king to Dallas in October (450 miles each way) and came to the conclusion that to me the 1125 was more comfortable. i rode the 1125 to barber and back for the AHRMA races last month also.(520 miles each way)up saturday morn and back sunday after the races. 7 hrs each way, smiling all the way. thanks for the positive vibes guys!! ride safe. tim |

Very cool thread! . .. I love reading this stuff. I also agree with Tim about the range. It's interesting, how when you are covering miles, how fast those fuel stops come up and each and every one introduces all the opportunities for a zipper to be left open . . . Fun reading . .. GO TIM! |

I agree Tim. I had a new '87 Heritage Softail, best I could do was 600 miles and I was beat(20 years ago at that). Coming home from Homecoming, I got a little over 900 miles in 24 hours. Felt good, but very sleepy. Z |

I agree with you guys. I rode from El Paso, Tx to Highland, California about 817 miles one way but it was a bit more as you get lost trying to find your way around or getting to a gas station. I then rode back to El Paso after 4 days in Cali. I wasn't that tired or beat from riding. I have riden my 2005 XB 12R about 250 miles and to me that was more exhausting as my 1983 FXD wore me out at 150 miles. The 1125R is far more comfortable to ride. By the way I may not be as seasoned as some of you fellas here but I do have 9 compressed disc in my back. I will be making that ride again in May when I am home on leave. Way to go Tim and Zac.
