The parts which I needed are now in Europe but I'm still waiting for my dealer to make a booking to take my bike in. I want to make this my last visit for Warranty work, so would it be wise to purchase a piston Sleeve X0087.1AM in case the dealer needs this part for the fix? Has anyone here who's had their clutch fixed with the '09 cover needed this part - in fact, what part is it that usually scuffs to cause the leaks, as it would seem that it's only the cover that's different on the '09 models? Does the piston/sleeve get better support in the bore of the uprated cover? |

Arghhhhh.........just phoned up several dealers about the availability of the sleeve X0087.1AM so that I could have one if needed when my bike goes in for repair - and guess what - not available in Europe. I emailed Buell in both the UK and US asking if this part could be made available for Europeans and Customer Services advised me last week that all parts asked for had arrived. Here we go again! |

My dealer has just phoned to tell me that they DO now have a sleeve in stock because it was sent to them fitted in a second '09 cover they have been sent without asking. However, they are waiting for an oil seal X0077.1AM which has an estimated arrival time of DEC 9TH so it looks like I may be off the road for another 7 weeks - and then the dealer will have to book me in, so God only knows when I'll be back on the road. I've had enough, when the bike is sorted out, it'll up for sale. Should make someone a nice Xmas present |

I'm so sorry to hear this. I don't think it is totally realized how important a trouble free bike is to so many people. I have little tolerance. |

I could check availability of the oil seal here and ship it to you if you like. PM me. Not sure if it would help any. I waited two months for the extended throttle cables to do the handlebar conversion. That didn't stop me from riding though. |

That's most kind of you. I'll check with Buell UK if this is ok with them. Many thanks |

Buellborn, when I bought the bike (1st in UK) the dealer told me 'you do realise you're a guinea pig'. I knew this from past experiences with buying early new models and wasn't really expecting it to be trouble free. What I was expecting was when known issues arise, the parts would be available in the UK to sort it without resorting to hours on the phone and repeated trips to the dealer for the same issue. Enough's enough. I bought a new Honda CRF Enduro bike two weeks ago and found it to be running lean. A visit to the dealer had the 'PowerUp' kit delivered from Belgium (where Buell has its distribution centre) to the UK the following day! My other mate destroyed the gearbox in his 1098 over the summer, 10 days later, he was back on the road. |

It does seem crazy as the engine is built in Europe ( I assume ) that parts have to come from the States - you would have thought that they could be delivered direct to the European distribution centre from the factory ... |

A huge thanks to you Court, your actions in this affair have been astonishing. Once the problem with spares was brought to light, it was amazing how quickly you got things sorted. You have restored my faith Thank you very much, I hope one day I'm a position to return the favour. |

Wow Court, Looks like your getting a little slow these days... based on the posts in this thread, it took you the better part of 6 whole minutes to get Crowleys issue resolved and in motion. Iv heard stories of you tripping the problem solved beams in under 4 min..... All kidding aside, Great job as usual. See you at Bear MTN. By the way, Dave C who was buying his new CR last Saturday at Liberty says hello and that he enjoyed meeting and speaking with you. Seth |
