Oscar- I wonder why he got a ticket then? He was told the law said that if you don't have a windshield (the sportbike's doesn't count) and you have a helmet on, then the faceshield has to be down. When I took the MSF class they said that if I wasn't wearing safety glasses then the faceshield has to be down. |

I guess it could have been a tire weight. I didn't get to look at it for more than an instant before impact. I just know that I'm glad I had the shield down. I'm certain my face would be bloody otherwise. |

Once, on 156 between rt.s 1 and 101, I got pelted with a stale bread loaf by some asswipes mentioned in another thread, traveling in the opposite direction...THAT hurt, thankfully it was only in the chest. I miss my faceshield every time some Cicada decides to confide its deepest secrets in me.... I should really install another shield, soon. |

I used to have one of those when I was young. I'm not telling what I was using it to smoke. |

I caught a good sized rock in the middle of a face shield at about 55mph. It skipped off the ground after falling off a truck and left a nice impression on the shield. It woulda hit me right between the eyes. I dodged a big crow at about 120mph. I think that woulda hurt regardless. |
