Currently I have the Cityx bars(dirt bike style) but would like to change to the Crossovers or some clip ons. Now for the questions; With the clip on is it necessary to put them under the triple tree? OR can I slide the forks down where the triple tree is at the lowest part of the fork groove, about a 1/2" (for a total of about 1.25" above the triple tree) and mount them there. Also where's the cheapest place to acquire the crossover 0 degree bars? |

Anyone have any idea about clip ons being mounted above the triple trees? The thing about the Crossroads is they're a bolt on. Clip-ons take a little more work. You'll need to push the gauge cluster/flyscreen stuff forward about an inch for them to fit, and the cables would need to be re-routed a bit. Also you'll need to find some that have a narrow collar, or you'll have about an inch or so of the collar above the fork tops. You may want to look into the "clubmans" they have on the new 1125CR, it looks like they could fit without a lot of fuss. I *think* they're about $80. Or you could just get some lower bars. |

I wish I knew someone local that had some crossovers. My brother has 2 CNC machines in his shop and I'm sure he could make them for my free if he had the basic size. |

If you do a search for handlebars it'll come up with tons of info on lower bars. Make sure you choose XBoard in the search topic. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/search.cgi The "clubmans" I know very little about. The classic clubmans needed a riser for them to fit and clear everything. But since Buell made their own to mount on the 1125CR, they may very well be a straight bolt on. I have the Crossroads, and love them. If the CR had been around in 03, I'd have at least tried that route.

not sure on that one teeps. the risers are homemade and although i'm confident in them track inspection may question them. i did my mod as a low budget test run before i sunk the money into adjustable bars and 2" risers from American Sport Bike, but over the winter i will do the new pieces for the permanent set up. the new adjustable bars and risers come in around $200 for the whole deal which i am now more than willing to shell out for after running my current setup for quite a while now. I recently found some clubman handlebars on ebay that look like they will fit without the need for modifications. The centerwidth appears that it will fit around the fork tree. Should have them sometime this week and I'll post an update. |

i think the 1125CR clubman handlebars are tapered down to fit the controls. so an XB clamp would need to be machined to accept a larger diameter.... do ya feel me? it looks like they are 1" at the knurled part where the clamp is. doesn't any one have a CR and some outside calipers?!?! |

I was thinking about doing the CR clubmans on my lightning. They are a larger diameter. How much is the CR top tree? Are the forks the same diameter as the XB? |

If you get the clubmans and can't get them to work, shoot me a pm and I'll show you pictures of my modifications to make them work on my "S" model. |

Yes... The inside of the LSL Clipons are much smaller than our bars.. I machined some brass... hindsight 20/20 it would have been much easier to just do with plastic plumbing pipe instead of brass.
