In all fairness it could have been there and i'm just noticing it because I've been slowly increasing the revs. Between 3500-4000 I'm getting a oscillating vibration. Feels like i'm running over those things in the road that are supposed to wake you up or let you know a stop sign is coming. I had a similar rpm specific vibration on my 2006 mustang and after replacing my clutch/flywheel with aftermarket, it was completely gone. Can't feel it in the bars, more in the seat/foot pegs. The odd thing, it seems to disappear if I stay at that rpm for a bit. I did a search on here for new vibration and found quite a few posts, but most were related to tires. I ordered new tires, but i wouldn't think tires would cause a vibration at a specific rpm and in any gear. I tried loosening the primary some, but it didn't make any difference. Now I know that all engines have harmonic vibrations that can't be completely canceled out, but I know nothing of this motor, so I thought i'd ask. |

My first guess would be the rear tire. Engine and front wheel vibrations would be felt through the bars. You're right about rpm specific vibration, yours seems to be localized. Tires that are not properly balanced will vibrate from a number of causes. The tire itself could still be good. It's an expected thing. Is there anybody in your area who can reliably balance high speed motorcycle tires? (Otherwise you'll have the same problem with the new ones.) |

Mine does the same thing occasionally from 3.5-4k, ever since the Micron got installed. |

If it aint banging or clanking or smoking I don't get to excited just check your wheel bearings to certain when you do your tires |

The back tire is shot, that's why I bought new ones. It very well could be the tires, but I have my doubts. I'm still not sure where to get the tires balanced. It's a 45 minute drive to Gainesville Harley, so i'll probably just go there. Surely they can balance the tires. I ended up getting the pirelli strada's. Came really close to try the Metzler M3, but in the end all I need is a sport touring tire with a little grip. |

I never even balanced my tires and they are fine todays tires are so well made I have not had to balance them. The rear tire can be done anywhere the front cause of the rotor can be tough |

New bike or used? If new, it's probably just the mounts breaking in. |

If it is still there after the tire change, check the primary chain adjustment, if that doesn't help look real closely a the front isolator. |

My '03 9S with 7500 miles has started this and after changing all fluids and checking clutch, primary and all the other moving parts....it is still there, but not as bad. I think it may go with the bike and we are now noticing and getting used to it. Like someone else said, when it starts smoking or quits...check it out! |

The bike is used and I have looked at the isolators, but honestly, I wouldn't be able to tell if one were bad. |

Does anyone have a pic of what the front isolator is supposed to look like? After looking with a flash light, mine may need replacing. Do you need to support the engine to change it? thanks guys. and girls, if any. |

Moosetang- note that a bad isolator doesn't have to be a catastrophic failure like shown in the earlier link. Sometimes the isolator will tear which causes an increase in vibrations. See photos in this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/375451.html |

Well mine doesn't look all that great. No big cracks, but I can see where it is moving around inside the aluminum mount. I can actually move the whole piece of rubber by putting pressure on the metal cylinder. I'll probably just order a new one, the newer 07 part looks much more capable of isolating. Anyone know how much these things run? I'm afraid to ask.

Just make sure its Shot before ya spend the $$$ Not Sure but don`t think the one you have needs replacing there... But hard to tell on these unless you are looking at them straight on or in hand... Got 20 thousand miles on one still seems ok .... |

The one on the Uly looks different than that one, but the rubber will show a crack laterally up along side the tube in the center. It will crack and split from the bottom all of the way through. My '06 Uly is on its fourth one at 33000 miles. I never had a problem with my '05 city-X at 13000 miles. |
