I hope I'm not out of line here, since they are a site sponsor. However, before I put up my hard-earned, I wanted to get opinions about buying from www.sporttwin.com, AKA Dallas HD/Buell. I can save money by getting my Blast Pro-series exhaust & air cleaner from them, rather than buying from the local (Bumpus of Memphis) dealership. However, it may not be worth it, if I am going to have problems. So, are they good guys to work with? And, if this question is out of line, so be it and I apologize. Thanks in advance. Dan |

Communication is non-existant, but send your money and you'll get your part in a timely fashion. Check their website and forum to make sure they're still in business (I think they was a decision being made soon regarding this)

I thought their web site was going off line or something. If it's still active there should be news or info on it. Might have been they were just killing off the discussion board portion of their site. Or not. |

Well, I have been to that shop. The are like most other shops, full of Harleys, and just have a few buells. They did have a few Buell accessories actually out where you could see them. Not sure how they are via the internet, but they seemed nice enough in person. |

I second the no communication thing . .. . .they refused to take an order over the phone, but i'net orders were filled quickly and accurately . . . .. for me (others wound up waiting weeks {and in one case I know of, months} for their parts) given the recent postings on their board, I'd take a pass on em til they make their intentions a bit more clear |

The "no phone order" is a H-D policy. They can't sell parts out of state via phone orders. Internet is a whole different beast. I wouldn't be suprised if this move is precipitate by a "new policy" from the H-D Mother Company. |

"The "no phone order" is a H-D policy. They can't sell parts out of state via phone orders. " If that's true then it's a new mandate as I know of several phone orders to several different dealers interstate over the last couple of years. Some shops simply want something more than a "verbal" order to back up what the order is for in case the customer complains they didn't get what they wanted. It's real easy to say "company policy" when they really mean "don't want the potential hassle". |

Sporttwin is no more...well the old one isnt. Brad just put up the new site he has been working on for awhile now. Its no longer affiliated at all with HD of Dallas. He is only doing it because he is a fan of Buells & loves running the site. The only way to order parts now from HD of dallas is by phone, but why bother when you can order from so mnay other folks who actually want your business. |

Oh yea about the no phone orders deal. I dont believe that for 1 second. Back when I still got along with my local dealer I had a problem when I was out of state. I fried out an ignition module & the local dealer where I was near had none in stock. I called up my dealer & they shipped me out one overnight to my campground. I didnt even pay for it till I got back into town. |

Their internet ordering system was not very good. It was automated and would print out the orders coming in via internet, if the printer ran out of paper in the middle of the night, they didn't get the order, but the system led you to believe it was being processed and shipped, even sent order confirmation e-mails, yet no one knew you placed an order, at least this is what I was told when one of my orders never showed up and I called to bitch. |

The first time I ordered something from them,it took a month to get. That was a set of CRG barend mirrors and they charged my credit card. Then they didn't send them out.I must of been on the phone with them 10 times just to get to the person that knew what was going on.My first impression was they sucked.I can deal with error but can't when you have my money and I don't have what I payed for and almost a month goes by. |

I have been waiting at least a month for the 99-00 Service Manual for my X1. After a few weeks I called and was told they just got it in. Now it's been a couple of more weeks. I'm not in a hurry to get it, but it would be nice to see... Mike M |

Someone recommended Chicago HD/Buell to me. I was able to get 20% off retail, and from what I hear they have a good reputation. I'm now looking forward to a better breathing and louder Blast. |

I'm now looking forward to a better breathing and louder Blast Keep an eye on that order, especially if it was placed over the internet, the guy doing the internet orders can forget to order stuff from time to time, if it was placed in person, they do a good job, but just keep an eye on the internet, and dont be afraid to ask if it has been ordered do ask why, but i must say the %20 off is nice later Roger |
