Does any one have info about Carabou Cases on the Uly. They are now up on the Carabou site and I'm wondering about the differences between the 41L and 36L side cases and passenger comfort?? |

I know that this probably doesn't apply, but I bought a set of Pelican 1550 cases to mount on my stock OE Buell Uly racks, but found them to be very huge hanging off the side of the bike, I decided to order a set of 1500's instead, and have found them to have reasonable storage capacity and yet they are smaller in overall size and look "right" on the bike. I also bought a Pelican 1500 to use as a top case. The side cases have custom made (should say "home-made") quick detach brackets and the top case uses the OE Buell/hepco mounting bracket. Regardless, either from Caribou Cases or Pelican, these are some really heavy duty luggage pieces for a motorcycle. I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality cases. Also, I still have the 1550's which are for sale if anyone is interested ($200 for the pair, new in the boxes) Oh, I've got pictures too, if anyone is interested in doing this to their bike using stock racks and wants a reference (the photos are too large to post here) (Message edited by prowler on November 14, 2008) |

Roger from Cariboucases says: the 40 liter cases reduce the amount of space for passenger feet on the peg. But a men's size 10 boot was not restricted. t's all an issue of shoe/boot size I suspect. I ordered the 36 liter cases as I like the latch of the Hardigg-Storm cases better than the Pelican variant. The 40 liter cases just seem too big for everything but the longest tours. I'll have a Wolfman rear bag come touring season. NUTS |

Running the smaller cases on my ride now for over a year and a half. But I am on the CityX and NEVER ride a passenger. They are very durable and are the best set of crash protectors you can put on the bike... bonus that they carry a bit of gear too. No regrets on the purchase or function. |

Cases are on. I went with the 36 liter option. These are Hardigg-Storm cases and quite strong. Only problem I have found is the passenger pegs will not close all the way with the cases on. Roger at www.Cariboucases.com is a first rate businessman. I think he needs a Uly! NUTS First one to tell me I have a headlight out gets a Guinness at MBVI |
