EZ, you should of moved down south, where the roads are dry and the Mountain roads are plentiful. If no blastards show up North we should all try and meet some where in Central Cali. Gearheaderik and some others are trying to get together at the end of the month, maybe we are up for a good long ride. |

Well, we have done some group rides and have met in Buellton for the SLO rides 1, 2 & 3 (was there 3?) and merged it with the American Sport Bike BBQ in Buellton 2006 & 2007(though I do not have a date for the 2008 American Sport Bike BBQ). The first SLO ride was set to be a big success, but the Bozo organizing the SoCal Blasters decided to spend that weekend in ICU instead. Unfortunately the SoCal contingent fell apart without an organizer. Its difficult to get Blastards together since many are new riders and a 100 mile trip is a full day for most and some may not be comfortable with a group ride (I surmise, dont really know the exact reasons). They also never seem to stay Blastards very long The SoCal Blast community needs a new cheerleader! http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/43413.html?1146779727 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/40263.html?1217914749 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/ 222794.html?1168564225 |

Okay I don't think I would look very good with pom-poms and a short skirt but I would be willing to try an organize some get togethers. I would even host one at my pad since I have a large back yard with a pool and did I mention I'm a professional chef? Still think moving up North was a good idea EZ? Just kidding I love the bay area, went to Chef school there back in 91 ( when I rode a Sporty). But I am a native Angelino so don't hold that against me. Besides I have owned other bikes, my previous one was a 06 XB12 Firebolt that my idiot buddy went and totaled so I will be staying a blastard for a long while, I want to see how many miles I can put on my bike and then when it goes out I will tear it apart and go Frankenstien on it. Besides nothing is more pleasurable than showing all the kids on rice rockets how an American bike with an experienced rider can kick there ass out on the twisties Lets try and make a plan for a central rally soon. perhaps the beginning of September? |

I put in an email to American Sport Bike to see if they're having the BBQ this year (late Sept, early Oct). Past experience has proved thats probably the best way to go (at least when no other Blastards show up, there'll be some other Buells there)! |

P3_pilot - I was born and raised in So Cal - El Monte - etc - so don't stress that - its cooler in the Bay area than most of the rest of Cali and that is what I'm enjoying - they are thinking of having the American Sport Bike BBQ in Vegas this year - go figure - ah well - perhaps we should plan a SLO reunion for next year - we'll see. Well okay El Monte Pilgrim, I do agree the North is a little cooler so and much less crowded, just a little jealous that you have better restaurants than we do Vegas sucks! Lived the for a minute and the only cool place to ride was lake Mead or Red rocks. We could make our own Cali get together? By the way what was the association you meet with again up there? Is that only for Northerners or can us Southern boys come up and join in the fun? ABAS or something like that. |

There are a lot of Blastards here in Cali and yet very few of us have met one another in person. Here is your opportunity to get a good set of rides in, meet the folk/friends you have been conversing with over the net and share riding stories, and enjoy the sharing of a passion we all have in common - Buell. Last years ride was a lot of fun and the roads and folk where awesome! Truely an adventure you'll remember! The twisties are calling your name - can you think of more fun filled reply?! Heres your chance to compare notes and make friends, and this is California after all - a place known for great roads - our mission is to find them! Bring your ride, make some friends and enjoy a great time! San Louis Obispo is the meeting point - join us - the origionals plus already! So join in some fun and create some memories to recall. Let the ride To SLO Part Five' Begin! (again the ride will be April 24,25,26!) Disclaimer: This ride is in no way associated with Buell, any Buell Forums, or any of its organizers. This is a voluntary gathering of fans of the Buell Blast. No one is leagally responsible for another on this ride or gathering - we all agree that we are responsible adults in charge of our own behavior, and that a safe and sober ride is our own responsibility and expected of us. Housing, feeding, and personal care is each our own responsibility. Showing up for this voluntary event will be a sign of accord of the above statement and will be taken as acceptance of such. That said: Please make sure your bike is in good working order, that you are in good working order, and that you are prepared for any contingencies that may occur (a cell phone and Roadside Assistance Membership would be a great idea, any tools you feel you'll need, etc.). I will reserve a small block of rooms at the Travel Lodge - 1825 Monterey St., (805)543-5110), however, such rooms will be shared (unless you bring your significant other - that counts as sharing - ;0)) and any other lodging arrangements will be your own responsibility - so if you want your own room to yourself- you'll need to arrange such. The Idea and goal of this event is to meet and share a little time together having fun and enjoying a ride! Each of us may participate as much or little as they please, however, thanks to those participating so far it looks to be a promising start to a fun event! Hope to see you there and remember - ride your own ride! EZ |

The ride back home - http://http://www.mapquest.com/mq/5-qWb4XeMrUxK8o8 Gv Both should be fun! So where do you want to meet folks on the ride down - to join in the fun! Saturday can be done either way - a small ride & a visit to the Motorcycle Museum, or a longer ride together followed either way with a great dinner at a terrific rib house. Great riding, fellow Blastards - who can ask for more. EZ |
