Doh! That is one of my biggest fears. I'm always a little reserved on on ramps for exactly that reason. The way the SUV "speed bumped" over him was gruesome. | ||

I agree that this is a definite fear of mine. Sliding into freeway traffic is not a good thing whatsover. But does anyone think that guy was hitting that ramp for the first time? Maybe i guess. Realistically he was probably trying to go a bit faster....or some old piece of shit truck dropped some oil. Who knows. | ||

Darwin conducted an amazing demonstration right before my eyes (and lens) yesterday . . .  If you are wearing a tupperware half helmet in New York City . . . you are an IDIOT. No . . .I've no need to argue and have no need to reform, correct or parent you . . but I watched Mr. Tough Guy here go body skipping down the street. . . . not only does the helmet do nothing to protect you, it was the first thing to leave before he even hit the light pole. Darwin . . .weeding them out one by one . . . . I'm off to school to study . . I'll be the one in the full face Arai and full Aerostich with back protector, boots and gloves. I'm hedging my bet. | ||

"That would have been so cool if he had pulled that off! NOT!" I hate to say it, but I've passed on the outside of car going into a left sweeper just like that idiot did. I didn't go down, but I got into the marbles and did a hellacious slide getting by. I wish I could have seen it from the passenger seat of that car, but I surely didn't want to hear what the poor people inside probably said. That was one boneheaded move I absolutely regret even though everything turned out OK for me. I still feel bad for the elderly couple I harrassed with my incredible inconsiderateness... they were probably out just looking at the foliage and trying to enjoy a Sunday afternoon. | ||

I don't think that guy meant to pass that car on the right. He didn't appear to have a choice as he rolled up on that car too fast and was looking for any escape route. Very lucky. | ||
