i am going to take a break of my own accord Reflection is a good thing. We've all done things that we wish we could go back and undo. When you decide to ride again, do so with a clear mind and know that your goal is to come home the same way you left. Riding can be fun, but also dangerous. We know the risks we take, but we also learn with each adventure how to minimize those risks. Carlos and I have had many conversations about riding styles, etc. His most famous adventure (leap off the Dragon), I even surprised myself and was very calm. I think I was more worked up with driving the Suburban and trailer down Wolf Pen Gap and the Dragon to get to him! The bike was fixable and he was fine. It was a long day, but we got through it and ended up chatting on the porch of TWO with the 3%er's. Posting here does not require riding or even owning a bike. If it did, they would have thrown me out a while ago! Good luck on finding the answers you seek. I'd say you've got a good base of friends here who would give you some honest feedback and support. |

Yeah, i'm always careful on 180. See quite a few accidents there. Some of you are talking about taking a class. I wouldn't spend money on that..... yet. Go to www.sportbiketracktime.com and find out when they are doing a trackday near you. The great thing about them is that it the novice groups they provide FREE class time, one on one istruction, and even a written test. And price wise they are always within $10 of any other trackday usually offered. |

xb12mel- yeah you were killing it. It seemed all of you got quicker in the short time we rode together. I'd check my rearview and there you were. The last run up Richard Russell was fun too! |

Jim, Becky, Jason, Myron, Mel and Matt I had a blast although I was selfish and test rode the KTMs before riding out the the HRH contingent. For that I am sorry. Suchess is a place I personally want to make a regular Mecca to. It is not a place to prove anything but if ridden with RESPECT can be enjoyed tremendously Everyone is home and safe and that is what counts |

Very true Mike, I enjoyed myself even though I cut the day short for you, I wish we could have stayed and rode a little bit more. Mike I was reading on the C3 board and someone wrecked one of the RC8s, I would hate to be that guy, I just hope he is alright. Matt, Sometimes it takes something like this to open up our eyes, both of us were lucky while down at Suches, luckily we both made it out alright and with minimal damage to our bikes. If you need any help putting it back together let me know I will help were I can, if it damaged your headers let me know I hace a spare set of XB9 headers at the house they are not perfect but are in decent shape and can save you some money. Everyone else I have greatly enjoyed meeting and riding with all of you it just seems our luck has been crappy the past few rides, hopefully a track day will teach us all something. Jimmy |

Well here's my 2¢ worth on the KTM's Super Duke 990: very much like an XB, smooth powerful flickable and fun. Just a little tall but it's ok. RC8: Super touchy, unfriendly, on or off power (you could have replaced the throttle grip with an accelerate button like on a game controller) Super sexy tho...I'll admit I was captivated by the tail section. (I like the "stinger" look) I doubt you'll ever see more then one on the street... that's a straight track bike. IMO |

I thought we were going to try and do something Sat after the Rumble through the Tunnel. If not, I am no good for Sun, I have Marathon goo duty. I also like the track day suggestion. I do have something else to add, I will have to get the info (and I apologize for the non military folks) but their is a track course offered to the military for free. |

"mechanical makeover"!!! You aint kidding. I need to replace ALL the rubber bushings and stuff under the Jeep. Don't be surprised if I show up "somewhere" this weekend, though. Matt, take your time dude. If you need anything(else), let me know. |

Well, hit me up after the Rumble. Since nobody's going to Poe's, I'll probably re-sched taking the midget and her friend to Busch Gardens to Sunday. That gives me Saturday to put on the new exhaust. If y'all are BBQ-in', let me know. |

Hey Buellers, I just got here (Norfolk) last night and I am getting around right now 10/9 @ 10am. I came here from Dallas, TX via Buelltoberfest, yeah baby!!! I am here visiting my sister and seeing her husband off, he ships out today on one of the cruisers. Btw, I got a check engine light last night on the way in on the Uly. It just hicked up and then bam light. I am not sure what is going on. Who is the best dealer to look at this for me. Micah 214.907.1157 (Message edited by slowride on October 09, 2008) |

Hey Slowride if you want a really slow ride... the Rumble through the Tunnels is going on Saturday. $10 proceeds go to the Navy for something or rather. Supposed to be the biggest Navy-Motorcycle event in the world! |

Jimmy, I may just take you up on the offer to help put on the exhaust. I plan on doing that Saturday. Mike, I think the wife re-sched'd the Busch Gardens thing to Sunday, so I don't think I'll be able to make it to Poe's. |
