Have you guys read the rest of the thread? Basically, same thing happened as here - it's been linked all over the world, and people from other forums that read it have joined and posted just to let this guy know what a dumba$$ he is. Priceless. |

next on pimp my ride... discover mad ninja skills and improve your undertail appearance. *Note trained professionals using factory training with dedicated equipment. Do not try this at home. Yes this means you, you craftsman yielding drill fiend. Step away from the power tools. Step away from the motorcycle. go play dungeons and dragons. |

If anyone bothers to register over there, instead of just making fun of the poor guy, you ought to suggest he hand it to somebody to pop the cover off. If it is not potted and if it did not hit a custom IC (two big if's) it might not be that bad to repair. He might have gotten lucky, and it is just some traces or a connector, and might be salvageable with an hours work or so. Worth trying anyway. A funny thread no doubt, but I have some pretty good stories of my own... (like welding the neighbors boat trailer, and some "obvious in hindsight" revelations about wiring pulled through the frame). |

So whose going to log in from Badweb to represent? Haha.....I was thinking of doing it but I was waiting for a more senior member to chime in. That thread could go on forever. The Speed Triple hooligans even joined in. (Message edited by boltrider on September 24, 2008) |

he can cover his mistakes really well. With more holes? I usually check the other side of what I'm about to drill through. Maybe that's just me. |

I was hoping that people weren't that stupid. After reading that, all hope is lost. I guess we need a power tool license to keep stupid people from doing things like this. |

What a POS ecm! I can't believe only 3 or 4 holes drilled through it was enough to make it stop working. I'd bring that ecm back to the dealer and replace it with a newer, better, drill resistant one. |

This is my favorite: is there any way i can by pass the FI light and get my bike running? Sure dude, just smash the FI light bulb under the dash, then the problem will go away and it will run normally. |

The problem is if the smoke leaks out. The smoke is needed in the ECM for conductivity. If you open it or drill it and the smoke leaks out it will no longer function properly. |
