well i was in the left lane doing bout 35 when i looked to the right, when i looked back the chick in front of me was stopped, so i customized her bumper for her. me n the bike cartwheeled, i rolled off the road into the grass and then the lady behind me hit the lady i just hit! fortunately, me n the bike was clear by the time she hit her! i'm brused and walking slow, but ok. my bike is at the shop getting an estimate, not too sure about it. all the plastic is damaged, left driver footpegs gone, both mirrors hanging by the wires, headlights busted. passenger seat torn left handlebar bent. it's a mess! |

. I got mine out of the shop on the 12th after 3 months of repairs for similar-sounding damage. Repairs were $5,741. http://picasaweb.google.com/pauledwards/20080612Bu ell1125RAccident |

Mine is like a new bike; as if it never happened... Destination Harley-Davidson Buell of Puyallup, WA really did a nice job repairing the bike. I'm taking it back in tomorrow for it's 12,400 mile service (about 600 miles late, but that should be fine) and it will also have the new ECU update flashed. I'm really looking forward to that!! |

Sorry to hear that, but 11K... your insurance company should have totaled it... I would eat the deductible, take the check pay it off and get another one... V/R, Nick |

Insurance? If you have it, that bike should be totaled, and hopefully you have GAP insurance so you won't owe anything and walk away clean. Either way- that sucks brother... but at least you're in one piece. My current medical bill is right at $500,000. Good thing they decided not to total me. |

Hmmmm... look over their repair plan carefully--- a lot of that $11k might be labor. Perhaps you could fix it yourself, by getting around $4k-$5k worth of parts. And maybe they're replacing more than necessary? Sounds like they've got a new engine on the parts list! |

RE: salvage ownership - worth a good hard look my '04 Tuono was 'totaled' after a 50mph lo-side bought it back from ins co for $1200[!] (hey, they set the price....) and had it safely back on the road for less than $500 try buying a 2-tr old Tuono with 5k miles for $1700 !! |

the ins company is supposed to let me know something tomorrow. i owe 10600 so i am sure they will total it and i'll pay it off n be done. they figured 40 hrs of labor n i think their rate is $80/hr. the bike is still under warranty. if i fix a totalled bike, all i can get is a salvage title. i don't think buell would honor a warranty on a totalled bike, so i sent it to the place where i bought it to get it fixed or disposed of. thats why i pay the high premiums of manditory ins. it's not something i'm gonna fix. allstate gets about $300 a month outta me for all we own, i'm not fixin anything! |
