Any Buellers live out this way? I might be visiting in the next coming weeks. I've never been and was wondering if there is any good riding out that way. How harsh are the winters and all that jazz?

Thanks!

My stepson is from there. I don't think there are any great roads, but then again I only drove to his house and back to mine here in Arkansas.

Horn Lake as you know is just south of Memphis (15miles). I'm in Memphis, I see a few Buells now and again but have never seen anyone from here on here (that makes sense right).

East of Memphis you'll find some twisties but realize they are far and few between ... meaning you ride for a hour to ride 10-15 min of some twisties... and then back 1.5 hr

Around Lake Sardis-west of Oxford isn't too bad...

Ark is flat and vacant.... cruisiers only... rice and cotton

Collierville H-D Buell (Bumpus) -nice sales guys..Jason and Jeff.... parts-Doc has a m1 or m2 i think...

Memphis has Bumpus H-D Buell with more Buells literally just less personality.... not bad thou... right now they have 6 new buells on the floor

Winters... are mild ... Jan- March are hit and miss riding weather... but I get out ever month...

Jazz... some ....blues YES.... rock and roll and folk YES...Memphis not Horn Lake.... not much in HL... very small....very... nothing wrong with that.... anyway...

I try to ride at least every other weekend with another Uly(not a badwebber) and then get out on my own the other weekends maybe with the wife as wheelie weight ....

All in all not the greatest roads but at least I'm riding...

Cheers-pete

Thanks for the info Pete. I'm guessing Tennessee is going to be where the good riding is at. I'm entertaining a job offer out there. So I'm trying to get a feel for the general area. I know its a far cry from the big city and excitement of South Florida. But, I am OK with that.

Beach-

East TN and frankly Middle TN is great riding.... TN isn't FL weather but it is bearable..... I've lived in few bigger cities and Memphis has somethings to offer but does have it's draw backs ... they all do... BUT.... Horn Lake is close enough to Memphis to get you cheaper flights and the big city life you may want... Southhaven,MS is just over the boarder from Memphis but is larger than HL and has more to offer and is really close to HL... if you are entertaining an offer I assume you are over FL ... grass is always greener...??? ....NOPE.... sometimes once you jump the fence the grass was green where you were you just couldn't see it ....BUT you can't see it until you jump the fence.... SOOOOOOOO.....

sorry for the philosophoric rant.... let me know if you make it or if I can do anything for you.... change is fun but you just have to open to change... otherwise it is challenging and just plan hard....

Cheers-pete

I'm over Florida, the big city and all the Aholes its filled with. I think getting into some country style living would be a very welcomed change. I've been doing a lot of research on the Northern MS and South Western TN area and it seems OK so far. I should be up that way in the next few weeks and then we'll see for sure. But, I am embracing the idea with open arms.

Don't let Horn Lake mislead you. That place is harder than H-E-Double Hockey Sticks to get around in. Trust me. It may not be Florida, but it's hell to get around. The outskirts may be ok, but the town stuff sucks. I have been visiting off and on for ten years that I have been with my wife, and that place is tons different now.

Can't be any worse than rush hour traffic in Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Or any time traffic for that matter. I will be up there soon enough to check it out in person. How cold does it get and how bad is the snow fall in the winter? Oh and tornadoes. You get any of them over there? Thats one of the main concerns, the weather. Thanks guys!

Tornadoes ??? Yeep!!! This maybe the south but it acts like the midwest alot of the time....

Winter??? Compared to FL it will seem cold... but like I said the right gear and the huge smile a Buell puts on your face it doesn't seem too bad....

You still on the M2 listed on your profile????

Tornadoes are like hurricanes.... you get a little warning and all but you just deal with it.... it is random.... weather that is... predict it all you want ... it ain't exactly science or anything.... oh wait.... crap.... they call it that don't they....

Oh yeah ... a#@holes are everywhere... just check the mirror from time to time to make sure they don't look like you..... words to live by.... but I have been drinking...

Cheers-pete

Yeah, I'm on my Cyclone. Love that bike. A@#holes are everywhere, but there is a good concentration of them down here. The winters I can deal with. I've been in Florida a long time. But, I'm from New England. Talk about cold! Geesh!
