Author Message   Paul56 Posted on Sunday, September 28, 2008 - 07:30 pm:        I've started to get the intermittent shutdown syndrome (06 54k BAS recall not done) thats correctable by cycling the kill switch. I don't have the time right now to get the recall done. I'd say loosing power when merging in traffic is much more of a safety issue the not loosing power when the bike is on its side. Just my opinion.   Johnboy777 Posted on Monday, September 29, 2008 - 08:14 am:        IMO, the BAS, with its history for failure while riding, is far more dangerous than any perceived problem its designed to solve. To me, the BAS is a solution to a problem that never existed. There have been a number of BAS failures here while riding in traffic.... that's unacceptable, and dangerous. Some Hondas have had BAS probs too. I have not had a single issue with my BAS. The recall was done b/4 I took delivery. If I was having BAS probs, that the dealer could not solve, I wouldn't hesitate to disable it. They thought it might be possible the seat is pressing on the ECM wiring causing an intermittent kill. Symptoms are similar, something to consider.
