See att. below: "RE: K&N Air filter use in Buell 08 1125R From: Lisa Watson (lisaw@knfilters.com) Sent: Wed 9/24/08 2:03 PM To: rob kreiner (supermotomx@hotmail.com) Security scan upon download image001.gif (6.5 KB) Hi Rob, We were able to look at the 1125R and get some ideas on how to move forward on making the filter. The bike should be coming back in the next couple of days. Thank you again for this information. Sweet...I was hesitant to move forward with a high flow air filter due to the lean conditions, but with the new flash I would think that the bike can now adjust properly to the increase in airflow. Am I right in that assumption? |

I am using the Ford K&N and had the reflash, my AFV's are 100/100 and the bike runs GREAT. |

The AFV are staying the same even with a K&N? Shouldn't that mean the the filter is not the weak link? |

Fresno , I was worried about the "lean " problem as well . So I called in my free dyno session before the Inside Pass track day so I could be sure I wasn't going to do any damage on the track. I'm running a D&D and the toyota K&N so the lean thing wore heavy on my mind until the dyno told me different. I had Micah at AF1 Racing ( one of THE go to guys for aprilia or rotax engines)do the runs mainly for the air/fuel ratios and secondly HP/Torque #'s. What we found was between 2-3.5k RPM is where it would be REALLY lean but from 4300k and up it was good and approaching very rich in the upper revs. No worries at the track in other words and I rarely run under 4k anyway, even in town. Then happy as can be when the final pull yielded 137hp and 74lbs/torqueat the wheel!! I wasn't expecting that much with the D&D but I'm guessing the K&N combined made a big difference. And no I don't have graph to post ,like I said it was favor and free session,a printout for bragging rights might cost me. |

Yes . I tried to get it done at the I.P. track day Tue. but the Buell didn't think about bringing a Digitech with him. I'm scheduled first thing Sat. morning.....I can't wait to fall in love with my bike all over again.

Actually it's red duct tape, I thought it'd give it a little more evil look to her. |

I don't know if it's what he did or not, but you can always do a layer of painters tape, and then a layer of colored duct tape over it. That'll give you the many color choices of duct tape, with the ease of removability of painters tape. |

Duct tape does not leave any residue if the lights are unplugged and the tape is removed at the end of the day/weekend. It also comes in black and red in addition to the original silver. I have used it for several track days and it has worked perfectly. I recommend it highly. |

On my S-1 I can unplug the lights and use duct tape with no problems. With the "25r" I put painter's tape first so I wouldn't have to mess with the lights. |
