I went to K&N's web site and did a search for the 1125r. It comes back as not available but if you leave your email address they will contact you when it is available. Sounds like they are trying to see how many people are interested in a filter. I know that others have modified filters to fit but if we generate enough interest they will make one. | ||

I thought about getting the Toyota K&N and then modifying it but I am concerned it will be much too lean. I will probably wait until there is some sort of programmer available to make use of the extra air. | ||

Hey Hunter19, There's a previous thread on this. I called and spoke to their customer service about a month or so ago, as well as emailed back and fourth with a guy from their R&D dept. He said he needed a "donor" bike for filter development. I put the word out on the forum, but, no takers as of yet. It sounded as though he was sincere (and eager) about making it happen once he gets a bike coordinated. On the other hand, somebody else had mentioned that they thought it was a "cop-out", because K & N is located very close to Skip Fordyce H.D. in Riverside, Ca. His point was that they could just as easily go through them. I'm not sure how all of that works. Hope that helps...... Stay safe, Tracy | ||

Sheesh, a company like K&N could just buy an air filter. But, they need to build a little stretch into it, so that it seats well on both sides. Hmmm.. guess it would be best to have the air box to test on after all. Never mind...  Jack | ||

I found that K&N Filter part number 33-2207 works well with minimal modifications. Fitment is for 2002 - 2005 Ford 4.0L V6 and 4.6L V8.  You will need to cut the filter housing between the pleats of the filter to allow it to bow inside the airbox. When I sized this up, it was the closest match to the 1125R stock element.  The locating tabs at the very ends of the filter will be hard to cut through, so I left them alone with good results as far as fitment.  This makes sense given the partnership between H-D/Buell & Ford (Ford injectors in the XB). Hope this helps. Chris | ||

Actually, it's completely different. Moto-ST requires a dry break refueling system to minimize fires during pit stops. | ||

I just did my k&n mod a 33-2260 36$murrys I did mine a little differently than others .I took my old filter and 1st off I carefully trimmed off the old paper element.Now your left with a screen and the original mold .Take the K&N filter and trim all the extra plastic off until you have the cotton screen element .set this on top of the original element screen and high temp rtv it .I still had to slit mine every pleat on the k&n. This way you use the original seal and frame your just glueing/rtv a cotton mesh to it. filter made a slight increase in pickup and torque .  | ||

No problemo, Nick. Be sure to look into tuning via DirectLink or ECMSpy wit this filter. I'm dyno tuning our race bike now, and the motor will run lean with this filter. Rear head pipe was glowing orange! I heard that the XBs use Focus injectors, but I haven't looked into that as of yet. The Ford oval is on the injector harness, that much I know. | ||

Just because a pipe is glowing orange while in wot doesnt mean it running lean.These pipes are thin #1 and a engine with fordged/hyperutectic pistons should hold up to 1400 degrees egt at the exhaust pipe in wot.1200 is safe.At 1200 degrees a pipe that thin should glow.Air fuel ratios are welcome with this filter with rpm .This info comes from experience I dyno tune often and write programs for fuel injected drag cars> I only wish I could get my hands on a program for this beast. | ||

Thanks for the info, Andrew. I was concerned because the air/fuel ratio on the rear cylinder was up there once I started tuning with the new filter (around 15:1). I know when I tuned my S3T it glowed a little, but this thing yesterday was HOT!. Had to let the wide band cool off as it began to get lazy as I progressed through WOT pulls. It was a brand new sensor, and it returned to 18:1 once it cooled down. As I started to tune, the heat dissipated a little, and the wide band didn't exhibit the laziness it had previously. The 1125R is a bit different from tuning XBs and tubers, but I'm learning quite a bit as I go. If I find anything else or uncover other stuff, I'll let you guys & gals know. | ||

Hi guys..im Rob, Buell specialist since May of this year at SkipFordyce HD/Buell. I just contacted K&N...and spoke to tech/R&D..and yes they needed a donor and if I would have known I would have gave them our demo bike months ago..and we would have a stock K&N filter already...So they should get one from us shortly. Keep your fingers crossed. Jardine and K&N come to us to borrow new bikes for pipe updates and changes all the time. Thanks for the report. Just let me know and I'll contact the right folks..with all my PR expereince racing/sponsors. Thanks again. With all the new 09 1125R's coming in and a new 09 1125CR in this week! Odinbueller How close was the o2 sensor th the head.How far away in inches would you say.It sounds like your cookin the sensor.Wide bands have there own built in heaters and dont require them to be close to the main header.Rule of thumb when mounting a wide band o2 sensor.Spray the pipe with some generic spray paint. where the paint quits burning off is where you mount it.That way you dont damage the sensor.If mounted incorrectly this can cause false values.  | ||

Rob; Great to have your support. We know that Zero Gravity is also looking for a test bike to finalize their windshields. Most of us would rather ride our bikes than let them sit for R&D work. | ||

Rob here with SkipFordyce HD/Buell..K&N has had our demo for a little over a week and are moving forward with the bike and info presented to them from this site...Thanks and hope to see a performance air filter soon...for 09!
