It looks like a nice jacket, I'm in the market for a new textile for next year, and FirstGear offers tall sizing. The Kathmandu looks nice, wondered if anyone had seen it. It looks like it might even color match with the Orange Uly? link |

I haven't seen the Kathmandu, but I've had / have a Kenya for several years and can vouch for the quality. Very good stuff. The Kathmandu looks great in the photos. Just don't forget where you put your wallet... that thing has a BUNCH of pockets |

No experience with that model, but I have the Kenya and the insulated bibs from 2001, plus a Firstgear Kilimanjaro jacket pant combo, both are top quality and dry, always dry. (Message edited by tnd2 on September 25, 2008) |

I have a Gen II Kilimanjaro jacket and pants for a couple years. They are very good but the new model looks awesome. The easier access to pockets and the sleeve straps are a major improvements. Have actually considered trading up, but have to save my milk money. |

For those of you who would rather save a few $$ there are 2 online vendors that sell 1st Gear closeouts at very good prices. While they don't always have the current styles what they do have is brand new merchandise. While many of you are probably familiar with them perhaps there are some who aren't. It's worth posting the info again so here it is. http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/bargain_basemen t/first_gear/denali_textile_motorcycle_jacket.html http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/ I have bought from Motorcycle Closeouts before and was quite happy with my experience. Price was right and shipping was prompt. One time I needed to exchange something and it was really easy with no hassle at all. |
