I've noticed my front brake often has a lot of play before engagement. Sometimes I think the level can freely travel a full inch before any engagement. But, I've also noticed sometimes when I get new tires, for that front tire, I'll have an AWESOME front brake. It's the *there*, on an gabby from the first milimeter of travel. So, what gives? Is there a secret tire/wheel swap procedure that will help insure I get my really grabby front brake with no play each time? |

Check your brake fluid level. Always pump the lever a few good times before riding. If that doesn't "firm" it up enough for you, you may want to bleed it & start over fresh. Hope that helps & YMMV. |

I do that. What I'm saying is: Sometimes the lever is just right THERE. Other times it's not. I've bled the death out of that thing when it's been "loose" before and got nothing for it. It happens when I change front tires. Sometimes i get it good... sometimes not. |
