So my good buddy Kevyn picked up his CR this morning....well went to get a helmet and walked out with the only CR around.. Anyhow we ride back to my place and get ready to head back out and notice lots of fuel at startup hitting the ground.... Took the seat off and found a nasty cracked fuel line...... Hard to see, but the fuel line has a HUGE split in it. Good thing he noticed the leak, as I was about to take it around the block! The puddle underneath is after it was sitting about 10 minutes! it was about 2 feet wide after running for about 10 seconds!
Harley just picked him up....so we will see what they say! but something to watch out for! if you see a HUGE puddle of gas under her, check it out!!!!
Nice bike, but after him owning for less then 2 hours, I hope they let him ride his old one for the weekend atleast! Keep safe! -Robert www.xblights.com |

I think it will be good to go once they get the new one on. The heat shield was already cut somehow, so im thinking there was an installation/inspection error somewhere along the lines. |

I'm gonna keep mine stock at least till I get the wide bar pieces. Ordered them today. I really dig bar end mirrors, and I have the feeling that's where I'll end up. |

Look on Buell site under the CR, under accessories. One of the few things there is a wide bar kit. Gives the part #'s and prices for all the requisite pieces. Comes to about $200. Just ordered all the pieces for mine. Rob |

The cr really does need bar end mirrors visually. You'll just have to put some signals on the headlight nacelle. It looked pretty simple to do. You could probably even use a set of rear signals. |

Congrats , I can't wait to see one in person, I hope there'll be some at the Inside Pass tomorrow to ride. I wonder if the seat was put on hastily and was rubbing the line since being built and during all the moving around the plant and transport could have pinched/rubbed through it????? Hope all goes well from here!! |

Is the mirror issue elbows or vibration? I helped my 25r mirrors by squirting silicone between the mirror and the housing. Of course adjust the mirros where you would like them and then squirt in some RTV. Really helped mine. If yo need to adjust them later, take an X-acto blade and cut the RTV right next to the mirror, it will still work at reducing the vibes. I had some black RTV laying around (for some reason this tube is gray) and a few spare mins. I squeezed some RTV between the mirror and the housing trying to make sure I had a good bead the penetrated the space. I was not trying to fill up the whole space behind the mirror, just trying to give a cushion b/t the mirror and the housing. After cleaning up a little excess RTV I think it came out pretty good: It does make a BIG difference in the higher frequency vibrations in the mirrors. The lower frequency vibrations are still there but a little reduced. It does make a noticeable improvement in the clarity of the image in the mirror. Maybe about a 60% improvement in clarity. I did try one at a time so I could see the difference and in that scenario, it was VERY noticeable. Needless to say, both mirrors are now RTV'd. One hint, don't cut the nozzle too big, it tends to make more of a mess. Too small can be time consuming and a pain in the wrist. Neil S. |

I could be wrong, but do the CRs have an insulated fuel line? Ah, possibly an easy upgrade.... Part number anyone? |

Figure it's on there for a reason. Assume that the fuel heats up more as it is routed thru the engine compartment--hence the insulation? I took off my passenger pegs, so I have a few lbs. to play with! |
